About this deal

So many wonderful things have come from mistakes, accidents or happenstance – from Velcro to gum, the Frisbee, ice cream cones, silly putty and Post-it notes to name a few. This is a good chance to compare the restoration of the Blu-ray with the originally presented footage. And if weren't for Jaws, we'd probably have less environmentalists, biologists and ichthyologists out there protecting the fish that Chief Brody (Roy Scheider), Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and rugged fisherman Quint (Robert Shaw) tried so desperately to kill. So, restoration artists scanned the image and went through each frame, correcting scratches, lines and other issues using complex image editors.

The untrained eye will probably not notice, but videophiles and hardcore Jaws purists with a big enough TV or projector might spot the image shifting and moving more than it ever has in past presentations. Steven Spielberg’s Jaws makes its Blu-ray debut from Universal Home Entertainment in its original aspect ratio of 2. The audio is outstanding and the extras, while older, are comprehensive and unforgettable, with decades of replay value. It's hard to believe Spielberg would go on to become a director known for his tight, concise productions that stay on budget, and follow the storyboards to a tee. I'm not going to shame myself with exact details here, but suffice to say, the dialogue is crispy and crystal clear.

Brody and Hooper board Quint’s boat and go hunting for the shark; only the shark decides to hunt them. Regarded as a watershed moment in motion picture history, Jaws was the prototypical summer blockbuster, and won several awards for its music and editing. which I think is still a pretty decent sequel but could have been better if Spielberg had a hand in it).

As the art department's mechanical sharks often malfunctioned, Spielberg decided to mostly suggest the shark's presence, employing an ominous and minimalist theme created by composer John Williams to indicate its impending appearances.

Thankfully, audio tracks tend to hold up a little better than film prints, so it comes as no surprise that Jaws sounds extraordinary. track on that release presented a crisp, obviously new recording of the film’s soundtrack, while everything else about the track—the voices and sound effects—still sounded flat and, well, dated. eh oui , et franchement ce n'est vraiment pas dramatique , cela dit à l'acheteur de voir ( ou plutôt d'entendre ) .

Spielberg worked very closely with Verna Fields to ensure viewers never see too much of the shark, which the crew affectionately named "Bruce," and realize how funnily shoddy it actually looks. Extras: Language(s): English, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Subtitles: French, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, Screen ratio 1:2. Colour has had a bit of a make over here, and what were previously extremely saturated and brightly lit daylight scenes, have been tamed and lovingly balanced. In comparison to the making-of it’s certainly not as good or as informative, and admittedly a lot of material in here (though not all) is covered in the other piece, but it’s still a lovingly put together program that’s also fairly entertaining itself.I went on to read Jaws 2 by Hank Searle and that was even better than the sequel movie, (I recommend it).

It's actually quite depressing to watch this whole segment and see how little remains of the original props. The film was originally presented in mono so, like most probably are, I dreaded how awkward this track might be.Mobile-To-Go: Users can unlock a selection of bonus content with their Blu-ray discs to save to their device or to stream from anywhere there is a Wi-Fi network, enabling them to enjoy content on the go, anytime, anywhere. What’s especially nice, though, is that the sound quality between the many layers of the track sound to be the same in terms of quality. Universal Pictures' release of the film to over 450 screens was an exceptionally wide release for a major studio picture at the time, and it was accompanied by an extensive marketing campaign that heavily emphasized television spots and tie-in merchandise. Dans ce cas ne pas prendre édition collector 30 eme anniversaire ou une autre , mais prendre la version 25 eme anniversaire .
