About this deal

Lottie Brooks LOVES Christmas - there's presents, all the KitKat Chunkys you can eat AND no school for two weeks! Aha that’s an interesting question because it’s a real part of the storyline in book two – you’ll have to read it to find out! And although this is a humorous book that had me laughing out loud in some places, there were also some emotional moments where Lottie is crying in bed. There are lots of opportunities to add humour and it is also less off putting for kids who can be reluctant to read as there are no long chapters.

Junior caught up with author, illustrator and influential parenting blogger Katie Kirby asking her all those questions the kids want to know! So obviously, being in my 30s, I'm not the intended audience for the story of Lottie but I feel working in a primary school, especially in a year 6 class, gives me some insights into their mind. The school holidays are looming, and with Lottie off camping to France for two weeks and Daniel spending most of the summer on a fancy Greek island, it looks as if the young lovebirds will be cruelly ripped apart. group texts are some times layout that text from her friends are on the side lottie’s messages should be.

Many people said her sense of humour was silly and immature so she is now having a bash at writing children's fiction.

The other girls staying at the camp are MEGA-MEAN, best friend Jess is spending all her time with new girl Isha, and Lottie's diary gets stolen! Lottie isn’t based on a real person, but I did base a lot of her thoughts and feelings on myself when I was her age. Lottie definitely prefers creative subjects like art and English, she’d do a lot better at school if she wasn’t daydreaming all the time though. My 9-year-old daughter devoured it in two nights, and all I could hear from her was giggling and the occasional "Mum! sa týka deja, tak je to taká typická dievčenská kniha - chlapci, obliekanie, kamošky, nutkanie zapadnúť, byť populárnou či ten prelom kedy sa z dievčatka stáva "veľká holka".We were so excited to catch up with Katie - but not nearly as excited as the group of tweens we asked to come up with the interviews questions. Lisa and Lottie (original German title: Das doppelte Lottchen, "The Double Lottie") (published since 2014 in the United Kingdom and Australia as The Parent Trap) is a 1949 German novel by Erich Kästner, about twin girls separated in infancy who meet at summer camp.

If your children have been waiting for the laugh-out-loud Lottie Brooks sequel, then rejoice as the tale of a middle-grade tween girl is back.

When Lottie is responsible for a precious pet going missing at the vet's surgery, she is determined to track the little cat down again. I also remember shaving my legs for the first time with one of my dad’s old razors and doing a really bad job of it, just like Lottie does in book one. The hilarious new sequel to The Extremely Embarrassing Life of Lottie Brooks by the bestselling creator of Hurrah for Gin. The whole Brooks family are visiting for the festive break, there's a Secret Santa to organise AND Lottie has to prepare for her big performance in the Christmas play as the back-end of a reindeer.

The Lottie Brooks books are written by author, illustrator (of the infamous stick drawings) and Hurrah for Gin parenting blogger Katie Kirby, who has captured a generation of readers aged 9-12 years with her hilarious middle-grade series. But the cat is nowhere to be found, and Lottie will be in lots of trouble if Cassie the vet finds out what's happened!
