This book was an eye opener for me. I have struggled with the idea of Evolution/Millions of years. Since I became a Christian about 12 years ago and began to understand that what the Bible said was the truth and what I learned in school about evolution was a lie. I knew that we weren't from Apes and when I would question my science teachers they never had a response. I used to just shake my head and say okay. The final chapter has the townspeople coming to the house en-masse, a scene of mob violence, apparently to bring Daniel to justice for his lies about Mary Pascoe, and the book ends with Daniel committing suicide.
