An irresistible new thriller . . . Logan has devised an intricate plot of shifting loyalties and duelling timelines, but the real triumph in The Mother is that fierce, flawed title character. She's a mother like no other' A.J. Finn, International bestselling author of The Woman in the Window But Kate has a secret: her husband is having an affair. And a week away might just be the perfect opportunity to get the proof she needs - to catch him in the act once and for all. Because she suspects the other woman is one of her three best friends. I live in Bristol and I knew all the landmarks, streets of the areas this author used in this book, it trebled the enjoyment for me as I could recognise these areas in my minds eye. Very impactful.

This one gave me some The Firm vibes and I loved every minute of it. Getting caught was not an option and I enjoyed the way the author kept the pace steady. I was up and down with how I felt about this book. One minute I was loving it and wrapped up in the fast-paced drama. Other times I felt like I was slugging my way through it to find out why Heather had been framed. It was both slow and fast; it was both exciting and boring. I am still determining how I feel about it overall. You wake up, your husband is dead and YOU are the prime suspect. Your children have been taken away, your life sent into freefall - and yet you can barely remember anything about the night you lost everything. This book was the definition of unputdownable, I’m already a massive fan of the author’s writing but I kept finding myself stopping and re-reading certain sentences/conversational exchanges because they were just that good. The first chapter immediately piqued my interest and the story didn’t let up until the explosive ending.

She's a mother like no other. * A.J. Finn, International bestselling author of The Woman in the Window * There are certain things I love as a reader, when the book from the beginning pulls me in & doesn’t let go , when I’m given multiple twists and when the ending is really an ending ( I don’t like it to end too soon or drag out too long). This book had all of that and more. Things soon become more complicated for Heather as it becomes clear that someone out there will stop at nothing and go to extreme lengths to stop her from uncovering the truth. Alone and with only a couple of people willing to help her, Heather soon begins to wonder if she can trust the help around her and asks herself if she is better off going it alone. Because five teenagers went into the woods that night, but only four came out. And telling the truth might mean losing everything . . .

The Mother: The brand new up-all-night thriller from the

A tense and compelling thriller that demands to be read in one sitting, with a final twist that will make you gasp . . . Logan belongs in the top echelons of British thriller writers' Sunday Express With the wedding date approaching fast, can Ed finally find the evidence to prove that Ryan’s been lying to them all, before it’s too late? A wife convicted of her husbands death, serving her time in prison and at the end on her release hiding watching the funeral of her spouse from afar, not only that, her sons too who she’s unable to communicate with. A heart-stopping, twisting, unmissable thrill-ride. The Mother kept me glued to my seat and guessing until the very end. No one does it better than T.M. Logan. * Chris Whitaker, bestselling author of We Begin at the End *

I have read other books recently where someone has been wrongfully imprisoned and gotten out trying to prove their innocence, and they have been a much better read than this one. I was glad that the timescale that had lapsed was only ten years, as anything longer always makes these types of stories harder to swallow. What does wind me up about these kinds of premises, though, is why wasn’t all of this investigated by the lawyers and the accused before the trial? Surely the trial wasn’t the day after she was charged, but there was a period of time when the lawyers would gather their defence. Why wasn’t all of this looked into, then? Even if Heather were on remand, she would have had a team of people helping her. Andy and Laura are good parents. They tell their son Connor that he can go out with friends to celebrate completing his exams, but he must be home by midnight. Terrified that his cherished only child is about to marry a man who is not what he seems, Ed sets out to uncover Ryan’s secrets. But the more he digs and the more obsessed he becomes, the more he alienates his daughter and his wife, who are both convinced Ryan is The One.

This gripping new novel starts with a woman attending a funeral, standing in the shadows and watching in agony as her sons grieve. But she is unable to comfort them - or reveal her secret. I'd argue that this was more of a political thriller as despite Heather being the prime suspect for the murder of her husband, the popular MP Liam - having spent time in prison, she's now desperate to find out the truth.

I should have sensed it. Felt it in the air, like the build-up of pressure before a thunderstorm, that heavy, loaded calm. Heather is an investable character, I just couldn’t help but root for her after reading the ins and outs of her wrongful conviction and subsequent 9 year stint in prison for the murder of her husband Liam. Heather’s journey from being released to trying to piece together what actually happened that horrific night all while being a mother who has been wrenched apart from her two sons for over a decade made for such a compelling story. Fast-paced and gripping, T.M. Logan has truly outdone himself with his newest masterpiece! An irresistible new thriller . . . She's a mother like no other." - A J Finn The tentative steps she takes to form new relationships with people she meets but also to leave behind habits from prison and also the appreciation of things once considered every day routine! TM Logan was born in Berkshire to an English father and a German mother. He studied at Queen Mary and Cardiff universities before becoming a national newspaper journalist. He currently works in communications and lives in Nottinghamshire with his wife and two children.T M Logan is one of my favourite authors , and I regularly recommend his books when asked for a good thriller.
