About this deal

Botanicals: Seeds, berries, roots, fruits, and herbs are used in the distillation process for flavoring the gin. The aromatic compounds (usually oils) are released during this process to create the unique makeup of the bottle. From its rich heritage to its unique use of fresh botanicals, it’s time to get to know all about NOLET’S Finest Gins. The Heritage of NOLET’S Gin

This modern gin is distilled at a higher ABV than usual, too, at 52.3% compared to a standard of between 40-48%. Despite the number, it’s an easy-to-drink gin that’s smooth and round throughout. Its high price point comes mostly from its use of saffron, which is more expensive per ounce than gold and isn’t used sparingly in Nolet’s distillation process. This gin is distilled in a copper pot still named "Marjorie." The botanical list includes juniper, angelica root, cassia bark, cinnamon, coriander seed, lemon peel, licorice, nutmeg, orange peel, and orris root. It is bottled at a standard 40 percent ABV (80 proof). Like many other brands, Bols has expanded their genever selection. Beyond the original, you can find barrel-aged bottles, which are rested in French Limousin oak casks for 18 months.Up to this time the Nolet Distillery had predominantly made genever, most of which was sold in the Netherlands where it was by far the biggest selling spirit. However, Carolus took over just as a price war was starting with several of the larger producers trying to squeeze out their smaller rivals. Rather than enter this price war Carolus launched a new, premium genever with a much higher price point. Supported by retailers whose margins had also been squeezed in the price war, the new genever, Ketel 1, named after the oldest pot still, Distilleerketel #1, went from strength to strength. And what a range of options: This year is proving to be the year for gin lovers, with a growing number of brands experimenting with new botanicals and exciting combinations. The floral scent of Nolet SIlver Gin is over the top. You smell rose when you open the bottle, along with intimations of Lavender and sweet herbal botanicals like melissa and apple mint.

Convinced by the potential future success of Ketel One vodka, Carl Jr, the oldest son moved to America to personally handle its sales and marketing. The family took the decision to launch Ketel One without any advertising, just word of mouth. Carl Jr. and his brother Bob literally went from bar to bar with a bottle of Ketel One and a videotape explaining how their vodka was made and generally educating bar owners and managers about their vodka and vodka production. The Kyoto Distillery is Japan’s first dedicated artisanal gin distillery. The region might typically be known for sake, but a rising level of interest in other spirits has kept tourists returning for the gin, too.Navy Strength: Navy strength gin is the strongest at around 57% ABV. The name comes from the high-strength spirits distilled in the 18th century requested by the Royal Navy. However, the name itself was only coined in the 1990s as a marketing ploy to highlight high-strength spirits. Our methodology to select and rank the best gin brands in the world
