About this deal

Eurovision fever has reached Ambridge, the setting of the longest-running serial radio drama of all time: BBC Radio 4’s The Archers. In a special episode broadcast on Friday 12 May at 7pm, the village will play host to Eurovision commentator Rylan, who will stop by Ambridge on his journey to Liverpool for this year’s song contest. We’ve had such a great response so far, from visitors who are eager to hear any Eurovision updates or news they can get. Honestly, we’re thrilled that there’s so much anticipation. St George’s Hall is the perfect place for big public banners like these.

As well as the draw, the Mayor of Turin will be present to hand over the host city key insignia to the Liverpool Mayor – Joanne Anderson. Furthermore, the logo and slogan of the 2023 edition will also be used in the broadcast for the frist time. Eurovision 2023 Then closing Eurovision eve on BBC Three is Eurovision 2023: Meet the UK Act, Scott Mills meets Mae Muller, the artist representing the UK at this year’s Contest. BBC Four It’s the UK Eurovision songs you never got to vote for, because we aren’t allowed to vote for our own entry… until now! Kate Phillips, BBC Director of Unscripted says: “We couldn't be more proud and excited to give our audiences such a huge array of world class Eurovision content. It's an honour for the BBC to host the show on behalf of Ukraine, and we're committed to do them proud. The level of collaboration and coordination across so much of the output is truly amazing. Let the Eurovision Song Contest begin!” The 2023 contest will be the first contest since 1979 in which the winning nation was unable to host the following contest. It is the sixth occasion overall on which a different country has hosted after the original host nation was unable to, following the Netherlands in 1960, France in 1963, Monaco in 1972, Luxembourg in 1974, Israel in 1980 and Ukraine in 2023. The 2023 contest will also extend the United Kingdom’s record of hosting Eurovision to nine times.

On the eve of the Grand Final, BBC Local Radio will bring all the excitement and atmosphere from the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool followed by Sam Ryder’s Eurovision Special, 8pm-10pm across all local BBC radio stations and BBC Sounds. They’ll be talking about writing for Eurovision, how it impacts their creative process and how they handle the nerves in the performance. The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual musical extravaganza which attracts millions of viewers, not just in Europe, but all over the world. Outside of sport, it’s one of the world’s most watched events. But it’s not all about the bright lights and even brighter costumes.

On Friday, November 24, a small number of premium tote bags, lightweight shoppers, and two types of small multi-purpose bags will go on sale online only, with all proceeds from the sales going to BBC Children In Need funded projects supporting children and young people in Liverpool. To be here and look up at these new banners and see how St George’s Hall continues to support the city of Liverpool and tell its people more about another mayor cultural highlight coming our way, just shows you how our venue continues to be a spiritual beacon for the city and deeply entwined in our shared history and culture.” Do not add flags in the heart other than the official national flags of the participating countries. The generic Eurovision logo was originally designed by the London-based agency JM Enternational in 2004 and was updated in 2015 by Storytegic.
