About this deal

caffè latte: espresso shot with a large amount of steamed milk, served in a glass or large cup, similar to an Americanlatte Sipping on my granita, I relished in its ideal balance of sweetness and robust coffee flavor, helped along by the generous garnish of freshly whipped cream—a touch of indulgence that is quintessentially Italian. La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro is a beloved Rome café on the corner of Piazza della Rotonda, a square where tourists wait in line for their turn to enter the free-to-visit Pantheon. The locals have preserved their coffee culture for decades. It’s good to have in mind this set of habits that, although it has just started giving way to change, still represents the mainstream:

Nearby Attractions: Piazza Navona (2 minute walk), Museo Nazionale Romano / Palazzo Altemps (4 minutes), Pantheon (8 minute walk), Castel Sant’Angelo (8 minute walk)If you enjoy drip coffee or filter coffee, ask for a caffè americano, it is espresso based but has extra water so is more similar to drip coffee in terms of strength. If you want it with milk, just add con latte. caffè corretto:a shot of espresso with a splash of liquor added, the liquor used varies but grappa is common

caffè macchiato: an espresso shot with a splash of milk (usually steamed) added. A caffè macchiato caldo means with warm or steamed milk, and caffè macchiato freddo means with cold milk. This is my go-to drink in Italy. Wishing you a wonderful trip to Rome, and just let us know if you have any questions as you plan your trip! These features make it one of the best places to study in Rome. Besides coffee, you can get anything, from breakfast to aperitivo, and all the dishes are fresh. We highly recommend traveling around Italy with a reusable water bottle. Water fountains with potable water can be found throughout Rome (and most cities in Italy). This will save you money and help the environment! So join me on a caffeinated adventure through Rome’s rich coffee culture, as we explore the settings, aromas, and flavors that make each of these cafés a cherished part of the dynamic but steadfast tapestry that is Rome. This hipster cafè in Rome is located in the heart of the Monti neighborhood, which is probably the local’s top choice to spend a pleasant evening in the historical center. Giolitti also made our list for the best gelato in Rome, so this is an excellent one stop location to try two Italian classics.

Antico Caffè Greco also offers sandwiches, pastries, and desserts. So you can linger here if you wish at a table and enjoy your coffee and cake. This coffeeshop is a bit further out than many of our recommendations and is not next to any huge tourist attractions. But it is not that you have to go too far out of your way to find it either. The location is near the Roman Jewish Ghetto, Ponte Sisto, and just across the river from the Trastevere neighborhood. Nearby Attractions: Pantheon (1 minute walk), Piazza Navona (3 minute walk), Museo di Roma (6 minute walk) The property dates from the 19th century (although has been somewhat updated since then!), and you can enjoy a coffee in their open-air garden (Le Jardin de Russie) or in their bar lounge (Stravinskij Bar). caffè decaffeinato: a shot of espresso, decaffeinated. You can ask for any drink to be decaf, just say decaffeinato at the end.

La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro

If you’re looking for a really cute cafe in Rome Italy, we recommend you stop by Caffe Novecento on Via del Governo Vecchio, about 3 minutes away from Bistrot & Wine Bar Pasquino, as you’re heading toward the Castel Sant’Angelo. Caffe Novecento is the place that people stop by and admire because its outside setting is just really nice and catching. We’ve also spotted this place on Social Media many times because travelers keep posting about its shopfront which is lovely! The reason for this is that Mondi is primarily a coffee roaster, and a large number of cafes in Rome actually serve their coffee. They also run training courses for baristas, and also do tasting events around the city. Suffice to say, they know what they are doing when it comes to coffee. Not far from all the monuments of the historic center, Caffetteria Terrazza Caffarelli is located in the same building as the Capitoline Museums on the Piazza del Campoidoglio. We were just in Rome a few months ago and some of the places we would have recommended 5 years ago have changed a lot in recent years, particularly due to COVID, so it is often best to get recommendations from locals for specific food spots. The exception would be if you want to dine at a very popular or more formal place that requires reservations, those you want to book before you leave. What makes Tazza d’Oro truly special is its incredible granita di caffè. This chilled concoction of espresso and sugar, frozen to perfection, is a heavenly treat on a hot Roman day.

Oh, and did I mention the Maritozzo, filled with cream and honey, and the ricotta-rich Sfogliatella? I highly recommend Roscioli’s Sfogliatella, a crunchy, delicate pastry whose outer shell encloses tart candied fruit, one of the finest examples of this pasticcio in Rome. This place is elegantly relaxed and casual. Perfect for working, chatting with a friend, and resting after a long walk inside the Roman Forum. Pergamino Caffè offers the typical espresso coffee drinks you’d expect as well as filtered, drip, and infused coffee drinks. They can use all sorts of brewers to make your coffee including Aeropress, moka pots, syphon brewers, and pour-over devices.
