About this deal

Call quality is decent, although not up to the WH-1000XM5’s levels. Noises were suppressed well and didn’t impact the clarity of my voice; the person on the other end of the line said traffic comes across as slight rumbles. A very good performance, and the type you’d expect from an over-ear pair at this price. The integrated mic has a fair recording quality. We used an estimated value for LFE as the processing job is recording LFE at -3dB by default, which isn't reflective of its performance. To account for this, we measured LFE at -6dB, as this is the point in the response that we feel is closest to the true LFE. Even though there isn't much bass in the recording quality, it's not as bad as the graph indicates. We are looking into this issue, though. Your voice sounds fairly clear and easy to understand. At normal volume levels the Momentum 4 Wireless can sound a little reserved and within themselves, but as seems to be case with many wireless headphones, raising the volume opens them up. Once a volume level has been found, the Sennheisers sound poised and precise. So, which should you choose, the Sony WF-1000XM5 vs Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3? As the newer pair of buds, we'd say the Sony WF-1000XM5 may tip the scales slightly, especially in terms of the lighter and smaller design, new processor, marginally better battery performance and fun listen. Cabin pressure is also significantly reduced. With the Momentum 3, the pressure though is not too bad is noticeable and does alter the sound. The Momentum 4 Wireless suffers from virtually no pressure and the sound remains consistent throughout the adaptation and cancellation.

Thankfully, the V2 fixed many of those issues – especially the battery one – and kept the great sound offered by the V1. Then came the Momentum True Wireless 3, which gained a more streamlined shell, enhanced battery life, and a better ANC. Enhanced EQ Settings: Users have expressed a desire for more comprehensive EQ settings. While the existing settings are fairly robust, a more expansive range could allow users to further customize their listening experience, tailoring the audio output to their specific preferences. When it comes to design, Sony has made a few key upgrades over the WF-1000XM4s. What you'll notice first (aside from their smaller size) is a new, glossy texture. We're not sure whether this looks all that more appealing than the matte finish of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3, but it'll come down to personal preference. Going to make this short and sweet. The two headphones along with the HD1 wired connectivity and functionality are identical to one another. The Momentum 4 Wireless come bearingBluetooth 5.2, which means they can simultaneously connect to multiple Bluetooth devices and switch between them more easily –there's a nice connection management tab in the app to see your devices. There’s also support for apt X and aptX Adaptive, aka one of the newest and best Bluetooth codecs around. The year 2022 has been the one of the flagship headphone launch. The likes of Sony, Master & Dynamic, Technics, Bowers & Wilkins have all brought their latest ideas to market, and with the Momentum 4 Wireless, we can add Sennheiser to that list, too. Wind noise is also handled well, the design of the headphones reducing the effect of the turbulent air as it passes by (something that does affect the WH-1000XM4). The strength of the noise cancellation does tend to go up and down, though; initially, I thought this was as a result of the “adaptive” part of the noise cancellation. But it seems the headphones’ mics can be a little erratic, unexpectedly letting in noise and then closing up the seal.

The following test groups have been updated following TB 1.6: Wired Connection, Bluetooth Connection, and Wireless Connection (Dongle). Stay immersed in your music: Thanks to the headphone's Adaptive Noise Cancellation, you stay distraction-free - and with the Adjustable Transparency Mode you stay in touch with the world around you. In our Sony WF-1000XM5 review, we said that we were impressed with the ANC – it's still among the best noise-cancelling around today – but not as much as we should have been, considering the extra mic per earbud. It worked well, remarkably well at times, but as we said: "the ANC simply didn't nix as much noise as two other rival models at the level."

Behind this is a new technology including four mics. So tiny differences between these four signals enable the digital circuitry to accurately calculate direction of sound and optimally calculate a cancellation signal. Or optimize the audibility when voice-through mode is activated, so you really have a chance to understand either the plane attendant or the announcement in the train.

Lastly, let’s talk about the cabin pressure caused by the ANC. Well, if there was any I’d gladly give my opinion however the Momentum 4 Wireless has ZERO added pressure introduced by the ANC. If there was any, my ears did not feel it, nor did they hear ANY change or alteration to the sound. Bravo Sennheiser, mine and other’s sensitive ears truly thank you! One can now listen to their music while cancelling out noise in complete comfort.Multipoint connects two devices at the same time, such as your phone for music and your laptop for video calls, and works extremely well. They come with a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm analogue headphones cable and can play audio over USB-C at the same time as charging, similar to the B&W PX7, giving you plenty of connectivity options. There is no true artist who does not want to renew himself regularly. So Björk has just unveiled a new album. She has never been better, never been braver. We hear woodwinds which, according to the official reading, she herself buried (!) and dug up again. This goes to the limits of philosophy. Above all, it sounds good. Bad headphones would simply focus on the dynamics and neglect the details. But these Sennheisers tell us a lot about the fine shades of sound in between. That´s what we call charming. A high degree of saturation is noticeable. Simply a chain of heroes: Björk, the sound engineers and finalmente these great Sennheisers. Charging time - Approx. 2 hrs for full charge; 5 min charging for up to 4 hrs playtime; Remark: Ambient temperatures >30°C may lead to extended charging times Only the strongest film franchises tend to get a fourth go and, like Toy Story 4, the Momentum 4 Wireless have dutifully honoured the legacy of those that came before it – sonically and feature-wise, if not aesthetically. We are disappointed to see the classy design of Momentums of old giving way to one that’s markedly more non-descript, but the new guise is fit for purpose and we recognise that many might like its low-key discretion. Here are a few reasons that could justify the launch of a Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 series:

More Competitive Pricing: While the sound quality and features of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless series have been widely praised, some users have expressed concerns about the price. They would appreciate a more competitive price point that aligns with the cost of similar products on the market, without compromising the audio quality that Sennheiser is renowned for. Extended Battery Life: While not directly mentioned, extending the battery life of the earbuds is always a welcome improvement in wireless devices. Users would appreciate extra playtime between charges, ensuring their music, podcasts, or calls are less likely to be interrupted by a low battery. Mids are a tiny bit recessed. In The Seed by Aurora with the HD 580 Jubilee Aurora's voice is in the foreground. With the Momentum 4, it fights a bit with the low bass notes. But in return I hear bass notes, I can't hear with the HD 580 Jubilee. Are you curious about the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 release date? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Even though Sennheiser hasn’t officially confirmed the new model yet, I’ve explored their previous patterns and can make some educated predictions about when the True Wireless 4 might drop and what it could offer. I’m also taking a deep dive into the price history and suggested improvements for the anticipated model. Let’s dive into the speculation! I really like the Bluetooth connectivity of M4. The Bluetooth pairing was very easy with my iPhone, LG V30 phone as well as my laptop. The M4 can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. I can play music on iPhone then switch over to the V30 without having to disconnect the iPhone. I do need to pause the music on iPhone before using the V30. The setup of the Sennheiser Smart Control App is very easy and smooth for the Android phone (V30). However, it took me several attempts to connect the Smart Control App to M4 on the iPhone.
