You will need a space that’s 10 feet in diameter – or 100 square feet – for a single plant, so if you want to try growing more than one of your seedlings into a giant, you’ll need to make a 20-foot bed. When it comes to proper pumpkin watering techniques, keep the soil moist but not soggy. Consider watering the plants in the morning to reduce evaporation. If needed, use a mulch to help retain moisture in the soil. To enhance pumpkin fruit development, remove any further flowers once three fruits have started to form. Dig a hole about 2 feet square and deep, fill with good compost or mix well rotted manure into the soil.
