About this deal

Jargala reluctantly decides to retreat at the suggestion of one her mooks when Tokuga shows up at her hideout with a small force of mechs and tanks. The Earth Kingdom were more intolerant of it. Despite Kyoshi being openly bisexual, she wasn't able to effect any change. Asami points out it's been a long time and hopefully things have moved on since then. Turf Wars features Korra and Asami being awesome as always, Zhu Li being the boss, Bolin and Opal being their adorable selves, Mako being clueless and Kya being the most awesome woman on earth. Can you ask for more? a b c d e Cornah, Joel (July 14, 2017). "Legend of Korra Comics: Irene Koh Interview". Sci-fi and Fantasy Network. Archived from the original on August 5, 2018 . The creation of the spirit portal in Republic City disrupted radio frequencies from working properly.

Cornah, Joel (January 13, 2018). "Michael Dante DiMartino Interview". Sci-fi and Fantasy Network. Archived from the original on August 5, 2018 . Retrieved July 15, 2017. W]hat we have, it's kind of like the spirit world—it's special and rare. And not everyone is going to see it that way.❞ a b Watson, Cole (September 8, 2017). "The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars – Part One (Comic) Review". CGMagazine. Archived from the original on August 5, 2018 . Retrieved August 4, 2018. When about to leave the Spirit World, Korra recalls the time Asami took her race car driving in " The Aftermath".

Miss Exposition: Kya, with most of her dialogue used for a lecture to Asami and Korra on how all the cultures of the setting view lesbianism and homosexuality. Korra asked Asami if she remembers "when we first met, and you took me racecar driving", though Korra first met Asami at the gala Tarrlok had thrown in her honor. a b Morris, Steve (May 19, 2017). "For Artist Irene Koh, Legend of Korra OGN Is A Very Personal Project". Comic Book Resources. Archived from the original on August 5, 2018 . Retrieved July 15, 2017. Damsel in Distress: Asami is kidnapped by the Triple Threat Triad in Part 2, leading Korra to call upon Mako and Bolin's help in finding her.I really liked how, with the very first volume, the story jumps right into Korra and Asami's relationship, having them discuss it, talking about coming out, and even mentioning the different ways every nation reacts to same-sex relationships. Alles bei allem ist der Comic allerdings super schön, fängt die neue Reihe mit einer neuen Romanze an und viel Action. Freue mich schon auf den 2. Part der Comic Reihe (auch wenn die Wartezeit wirklich enorm ist..)

New Job as the Plot Demands: Bolin has once again changed his career, this time joining his brother on the police force. It's more justified this time; Bolin always loved fighting injustice and helping people, a cause he felt was betrayed when he previously fought for Kuvira. Come the end of Part 3, he resigns from the police as well. It's interesting to me that Avatar co-creator, Michael Dante DiMartino, wrote this story because it certainly doesn't feel like it. The characters don't really sound or feel like the characters. The illustrations resemble the show but are significantly weaker than what we see on the screen. And the "adventure" is not really one. Empowered Badass Normal: After his spirit induced mutation, Tokuga gains a powerful tentacle arm and becomes faster and stronger. Korra and Asami may have become a couple, but that doesn't mean that they'll immediately start being physically intimate with one another, as demonstrated when Asami makes a move on Korra in her office. Different people will become more comfortable with physical intimacy at different speeds. The graphic novel series was originally planned for a 2016 release instead of a 2017 one and would feature artwork from comic artist Brittney Williams instead of Irene Koh. Sometime during production, artists were shifted and the deadline was extended, but concept art from Williams featuring Korra and a release date of fall 2016 were distributed at a convention Williams attended. i am incapable of writing a full "normal" review bc this comic Killed me so i'm going to continue my review in a different style ✨ In a plot about turf conflicts (obviously), and tensions between humans and spirits made to coexist, along with themes concerning homelessness, refugees and relocation, this comic's main focus is setting the introduction of the relationship between the headstrong and impulsive Avatar Korra, and the calm, levelheaded and no less determined industrialist and property developer Asami Sato. How they go about it and what it entails. They care for other people in their plights, as well as for each other. It is incredibly sweet. Image gallery (11) Turf Wars is a graphic novel trilogy set in the Avatar universe, following the events of Book Four of the television series The Legend of Korra. The first graphic novel trilogy to be based on the second series, it is written by co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino, with line art by Irene Koh and coloring by Jane Bak and Killian Ng. The series' other co-creator, Bryan Konietzko, acts as a consultant for the novels.

The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars Part Three TPB". Dark Horse Comics. Archived from the original on October 6, 2018 . Retrieved August 3, 2018. The dragon bird spirit that Korra befriended in "A New Spiritual Age" takes Korra and Asami to various locations during their trip.

Having grown up in near isolation from the rest of the world, it doesn't occur to Korra that some people might take issue with her relationship with Asami. Wonyong Keum wastes no time trying to exploit the spirit portal for his personal gain, tries to force the airbenders to leave, and even thinks he can make the Avatar do what he wants. When that fails, he hires the Triple Threats to drive the airbenders away from the portal.
