About this deal

Can and should I swap out the existing inks in my Sawgrass SG400 or SG800 sublimation printer for the EasySubli Inks? The results demonstrate that SawGrass Sublijet ink is better on all the usual sublimation blanks, but, of course, Siser Easy Subli is best on cotton and dark fabrics. What is Siser EasySubli HTV? Siser EasySubli Heat Transfer is a lined, printable heat transfer material that can only be printed onto using a sublimation printer and sublimation inks. It can be used with various brand sublimation printers and sublimation inks. The rollers on the EcoTank printer especially are so close to the printed area that I end up with roller marks. Remove the protective sheet and locate the sublimation design on top of the EasySubli. Use heat-resistant tape to hold the print in place and then add the protective paper over the top of the sublimation print and use heat-resistant tape to hold it into place. Regular transfers are generally pressed for 30 seconds, while Easy Subli transfers only need 15 seconds! Upload your .jpeg or .png file and select “Simple”, “Moderately Complex”, or “Complex”depending on the level of detail in the image. EasySubli HTV can be applied at a lower temperature (311) vs traditional sublimation temperatures of 400 for a lesser amount of time

Now before you go out and buy up the whole lot, there’s a few more things we recommend having on hand to achieve best results with EasySubli HTV. EasySubli HTV Companion Products Yup it's print and cut....with the new Siser EasySubli printable Heat Transfer material using a sublimation printer and Silhouette cutting machine. I think the concept is a bit difficult to understand at first because it's not like traditional sublimation and there's already printable HTV on the market that you can use with your home inkjet printer - but EasySubli is where they collide. You are actually sublimating directly onto the heat transfer material rather than the final good - like a t-shirt. There are both pros and cons to this. The drying process can be sped up by placing the printed sheet under a Clam Shell Heat Press (that is open, on, and heated up) for 60 seconds. The residual heat will do the work of 30 minutes in just 1! With this drying method you may notice the colors begin to develop a little under the heat. This is normal and will not effect the overall vibrancy of the end result.

Regular sublimation also needs to be applied at high temperatures for longer time periods (for example, 400°F for 45 seconds). Siser Easy Subli has a much shorter press and heat time of 310°F for 15 seconds (on a shirt). Select “Continue”, title your file, add tags if you’d like, and be sure to save the image as a “Print Then Cut” file. Carefully remove the printed sheet from the tray to avoid smudging the damp inks and set aside to air dry for 30 minutes. Damp inks and over saturated prints can prevent EasySubli Mask from bonding properly so this step is especially important if you plan to use the mask. To use Siser EasySubli with printers that aren’t Sawgrass, I have another option that works well and eliminates the problems that I’ve run into below. EasySubli Printing Issues

These last few items are likely already in your craft arsenal, but were necessary to complete this project: Achieve the brightest colors and best results when paired with the specially developed printing profile and Siser EasySubli Inks by Sawgrass. Available for the Virtuoso SG500 and SG1000, Siser EasySubli Inks can do more than just print on EasySubli! Use Siser EasySubli Inks to achieve all your standard dye-sub needs as well, so there’s no need to switch out inks between projects. The low application temperature of 311°F even allows you to decorate heat sensitive fabrics like tri-blends and rayon! After this blog post was first created, “Virtuoso Print Manager” has been updated to simply “Sawgrass Print Manager” or “Print Manager” and will be referred to as such or “PM” for the rest of this blog post. When used on light colored cotton shirts inkjet printable heat transfer materials transfer the ink into the fibers of the fabric, whereas EasySubli sits on top as a decal Add a Bleed if needed. This can depend on your artwork, but in most cases I like to enable the “Add Bleed” slider. A bleed adds a little extra printed space so the blade has a margin for error during cutting. You’re less likely to end up with unintentional white spaces with a bleed.

No. Siser EasySubli HTV will work on any sublimation printer, however Siser recommends using a Sawgrass Sublimation printer with EasySubli Inks for best results. When your image appears in Canvas, you may need to resize it. Cricut only allows for 9.25″x6.75″ of printing space. EasySubli requires a sublimation printer which has a much higher price tag and start up cost than an inkjet printer This is good because, again, your garments are not under heat and pressure for an excessive amount of time, possibly damaging them. But, perhaps even better, you’re saving tons of time doing transfers in half the usual time! EasySubli is HTV that bridges the gap between sublimation and colored polyester, cotton, rayon, and many more is now available. EasySubli Heat Transfer Vinyl:

EasySubli HTV has a slightly softer feel than the inkjet printable heat transfer for darks we tested it against

Place a sheet of EasySubli HTV into your sublimation printer (I'm using my Sawgrass SG400) with the sheet oriented so you print on the rough side (As is the case with all sublimation, the printed image will seem dull and faded)

The Latest Innovation in Sublimation!

Siser EasySubli Ink by Sawgrass is set of sublimation inks manufactured and re-formulated with a special color profile to provide the best results on EasySubli HTV. EasySubli Inks, used in the Sawgrass SG400 and SG800, can also be used on traditional sublimation paper and projects as well where EasySubli HTV is not used. For the previous method, we do not want to mirror the EasySubli. But with this process, we do need to mirror the sublimation print. You can mirror the image in Design Space or do it in the printer settings. Make sure you do it in just one place, not both. Here’s my shirt after pressing with this method. These colors aren’t exactly what I had intended. The original file is more pastel, especially the lighter colors, and the greens are quite a bit different. It’s okay, it still looks great.
