About this deal

Ventilation is fully adjustable and generous so that even damp conditions can be aired out in a short time. We fitted a double airbed and a single airbed in the bed area and left our belongings in the porch area. There was no room left in this area once we had the beds in but this was fine as we only wanted it as somewhere to lay down. My partner is 5ft 9 in and we laid the airbed so that our feet were at the door end, in the morning he complained that there was not enough room to stretch out. I looked at the tent and thought all sides were the same- apparently not. My father in law suggested turning the airbed the other way and laying on it and much to our surprise when we did this there was slightly more room for him to stretch out in! To get the quality score, we’re looking at a number of factors, but typically we’re studying the brand of the product, the warranty included and basing it on what customers have to say about the quality.

I got one of these cheap second hand to see if the Mrs would take to camping as she has never done it and she didn't want to spend too much money just to find out she hated it. The one I had was huge, it did not look like the other ones I've seen as mine had a dome middle with a bedroom either end. We got the tent up in no time (30 mins max) but we did have a practice run at home to see how it went up and to make sure everything was there. Just as we got it up it started to rain but the tent looked ok and had no leaks so was well pleased. Air circulation might not be your first concern when tent shopping, but it can have a major impact on your comfort. I have this tent and for the price I think its actually very good! I got it in an offer some years ago to go camping in Cornwall. It took hardly any time to put up as only 4 poles involved. You can fit a double bed in the bedrooms and the living bit gives you space to breath so your not under each others feet! we had lovely weather the 1st time I used it. Then folding the tent in half vertically, and then again horizontally to leave you with the tent folded into a circle Small or poor-quality air vents will lead to a hot, stuffy tent and lots of condensation build-up on the ceiling. It was sweltering hot when I first used it, but it seemed to stay quite cool inside, not that I was inside it much in the day. Having the two air vents definitely helps keep a little air moving. We have lovely friend who have all donated camping equipment and materials our way which included a massive gazebo and windbreaks and using these we managed to make ourselves a lovely cosy little home for our camping trip. (hopefully I will be able to upload the pics and you will see what we did). This allowed us to extend the tent and have a little outside area. The first time I used it was just outside Brighton, me and the dog. With my son and his friend in other small tents on the next pitch. This tent is okay for 2 nights but I will be investing in a bigger one for next year if we plan to go away for longer, it will have to have a sewn in groundsheet and ample standing room and an area to sit comfortably.

Condensation was another problem - in the morning it was dripping! Although I must say it never actually rained in!As far as space inside goes, though each of the 3 compartments sleeps 3 people, we found that this is extremely cramped when, like us, you use camp beds/inflatable mattresses. This leaves no floor space at all and you will need to crawl over one another's bed to get in and out. Head hight in each compartment is also very restriced so adults may find it uncomfortable and cramped. The centre dome has the highest ceiling and the middle of this is the only point where you can actually stand upright in the tent. We also found the entrance to be rather narrow for such a large tent, particulalry with the many of us coming and going through it throughout the day. During the course of our testing, all the tents experience heavy downpours, wind and muddy conditions. On the second day it lashed down with rain and the tent started to leak on the seam where the bedrooms hang, it then started to run down the bedroom netting. Five things to look for when buying a pop up tent 1) Be wary of how many people supposedly fit in the tent The only thing we noticed was the top covering didn't seem to fit completely, it was a struggle getting the pegs in the ground, and tying it to the main tent!
