About this deal

Mammotion is built upon the self-driving robotics solution from AgileX Robotics and is a part of the Songling Robot Shenzen Limited Company based in Shenzen, China. The Songling Robot Shenzen Limited Company is responsible for developing many different types of robots, including the newly launched LUBA robot mower. Special Features The great thing about this navigation system is that it’s completely customisable. For example, in the app, you have the ability to create no go zones such as flower beds in the middle of the lawn and the intelligent system will skip these and mow around them. Power System When the Luba AWD 5000 initially starts mowing, it will focus on the middle portion of the lawn. Once it has completed this, it’ll then go around the perimeter three times to ensure that the grass here is even and neat. A lot of robot mowers don’t cut to the edge, so this is a really nice touch that’ll save you having to get the trimmers out. Plus, it does a really good job of getting right up to the grass line. Rain Sensor

I would recommend the Luba AWD 5000 for anyone who wants to jump on the RTK bandwagon as early as possible. This technology is still very new and really only being rolled out in 2023, so if you’re someone who likes to stay on top of new features then you’ll love this robotic mower. The problem with this is that there is the chance of missing spots, but this isn’t the case with the Luba AWD 5000 which offers much more intelligent cutting patterns. That’s all thanks to the advanced RTK navigation system, so the machine knows where it’s already cut and won’t keep going over the same area twice. The main part of the system is the RTK station which communicates with the satellites. However, there are also sensors on the mower itself, giving it a 220º view of the lawn which improves the ability of the Luba AWD 5000 to avoid obstacles. I tested these sensors out by placing something on the lawn and the Luba stopped just short of it and avoided the obstacle completely. Practically speaking, the Luba AWD 5000 would suit anyone who wants a reliable robotic lawn mower that doesn’t require a lot of work or effort to set up. This is a mower that you can set up and leave alone, so you really don’t have to worry about whether your garden will be well maintained. The reason for this is that it’s so robust and well-equipped. For example, the AWD in its name stands for all wheel drive which improves traction on slopes. Couple that with the amazingly solid rubber tyres and excellent suspension and it’s not hard to see why this is a real workhorse on hills. Cutting Heights As with most robot lawn mowers, many of the features are universal. However, the exact combination and specifications help LUBA stand out from the rest. Here are some of the most notable features that make the LUBA robot mower appealing to homeowners worldwide. No Perimeter Wire If you’re not sure what cutting height you should use, this smart system can even recommend one for you. One other slight issue, it felt a bit unclear with the app how to add/manage multiple zones, I had to tinker with it a bit before sorting it out. More on that below.

Founded in January 2022, Mammotion is committed to leading a smarter and more efficient eco-friendly outdoor lifestyle by providing innovative electric robotics solutions. The team's core members come from world's leading robotic and UAV companies, inheriting AgileX Robotics' seven years of experience with advanced robotics chassis-based hardware and algorithm technology, Mammotion offers next-generation robotic solutions forprofessionals and consumers. Something that is seen on a lot of robotic lawn mowers is a lift sensor and it’s not missing on the Luba AWD 5000. It’s a simple feature but one that goes a long way in preventing injuries if you have a curious child, for example. For this example, the lawn size is 3000m2 and the robot model is a LUBA AWD 5000 that mows 500m2 per hour Getting the Luba AWD 5000 setup is beautifully simple, despite the fact that there’s a lot included in the box. But don’t let this put you off; you can see just how easy it is to setup in my video.

If you’ve ever used a robot lawn mower before then you may be familiar with the fact that they mostly use a random cutting pattern. This gets the job done, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not the most accurate and efficient method. The next step is to then configure the Luba AWD 5000 to your lawn. This can be done within the app where you can set up to 10 mowing zones. This is about as much work as you’ll ever have to do with the Luba AWD 5000, as it involves manually driving the machine around the lawn to create the mowing area. This is all done from within the app and let’s face it, it’s kind of fun as it’s just like playing with a remote control car! You get the ultimate level of control by using the smart app that connects to your LUBA lawn mower. Using this app, you can easily see where your mower is and create no-go zones around children’s toys and lawn furniture. Need to change your mower settings or your mowing zone? No problem! The app makes it super simple to make changes to your mowing zones, cutting height, etc., all from the comfort of your smartphone. Collision Sensors To help protect both your robotic mower, lawn ornaments, and flower beds, LUBA comes equipped with an advanced collision avoidance system that uses four ultrasonic radars to detect objects in the mower’s path and change the mower’s direction. These precise radars can detect objects as small as 2-inches within a field of view of 220 degrees. If the system fails, the mower has three bumpers for further protection. Off-Road Capabilities

If the Luba AWD 5000 is lifted off the ground or even tilted, these sensors stop the blades from spinning until the mower is returned to the ground. Noise Level Unlike other robotic lawn mowers, there’s no need to find a shovel to bury any perimeter wires. All you need to do is open the app and walk along the boundaries of your lawn with your mower. You only need to do this when you are establishing a new zone. Multi-zone management efficiently mapsdifferent zones and allows users to automate specified tasks and requirementsin Mammotion appfor each zone including mowing date/time, cutting plate height and cutting route. The RTK navigation system on the Luba AWD 5000 had no problems getting around or between the two mowing zones I set up. The performance and final result of the cut were seriously impressive. The Mammotion app could use some work: It’s not as intuitive as I’d hoped for things like adding multiple zones, saving/editing zones, and more I also had an issue a couple of times where Luba would say it is disconnected from my WiFi, but will show as connected – I’ve then had to manually disconnect from my network, power-cycle Luba, and reconnect manually Jeff Lattimer, founder, and CEO of Autmow which specializes in robotic mowing recently reached out to tell me about the new Mammotion Luba and how impressed he’s been with it. Since robot mowers are a totally new experience for many, Autmow makes it seamless to figure out the best robot mower for your property with expert consultation, installation, sales, and support for both residential and commercial customers. The residential lawn care market has remained relatively unchanged for years and is in desperate need of innovation," said Jidong Wei, founder ofMammotion. "This is an industry ripe for disruption and with the acceleration in robotic technology capabilities, Mammotion is ready to lead the charge in powering the next generation of smart robot mowers. We are very pleased to introduce a product like LUBA - one that is technologically advanced and precise, yet simple and easy to use - to take the 'work' out of yardwork."
