About this deal

Journey of Souls is a classic that should be in every library. I wonder if you have any idea of the hearts it has touched? Hey guys, does anyone here have a critique of Michael Newton's use of hypnosis to aid people to talk with their souls with they past life regress? Where does his use of hypnosis fail? And where is it valid? Thanks! How is it possible to reach the soul through hypnosis? Visualize the mind as having three concentric circles, each smaller than the last and within the other, separated only by layers of connected mind-consciousness. The first outer layer is represented by the conscious mind which is our critical, analytic reasoning source. The second layer is the subconscious, where we initially go in hypnosis to tap into the storage area for all the memories that ever happened to us in this life and former lives. The third, the innermost core, is what we are now calling the superconscious mind. This level exposes the highest center of Self where we are an expression of a higher power. The spirit world where souls eternally learn and strive to improve, revisiting Earth and joining new human lives in their quest as part of continuing Creation, is based on love, according to Newton and others whose own observations and experiences support his narratives. Vengeance, hatred, envy, greed, lust and other vices are -- like punishment and retribution -- all human deficiencies not found in the realm of souls that Newton and others describe. Even with his original skeptical nature towards past lives and a personal atheist belief structure, his developing deep trance work with clients in his mid adulthood lead him down a path of the accidental discovery of Life Between Lives (LBL) which was truly ground-breaking.

Souls appear to be carried along busily against their will to their destinations, instead of having the option to teleport there privately with their spirit guides. Why do they need to go along specific routes when they can be in multiple places at once? Traveling in crowded areas, with some souls not being comfortable with it, would clash with their free will. It is implied that souls are somehow “separate” from God/Source, despite already being part of it. They have a blind desire to be absorbed into Source, but cannot do so until they have completed all their incarnations (and supposedly go beyond the Council of Elders). If this the destiny for all souls, it appears to be troublesome, stressful, and boring. Why is there only one path to God? What about the souls who never incarnate? In the early days of my practice, I resisted past life requests from people because of my orientation toward traditional therapy. While I used hypnosis and age-regression techniques to determine the origins of disturbing memories and childhood trauma, I felt any attempt to reach a former life was unorthodox and non-clinical. My interest in reincarnation and metaphysics was only intellectual curiosity until I worked with a young man on pain management.Another says, “I’m too busy with the people I’m supposed to be with…people I know and love.” “That is their place.”

At the highest state of our multi-dimensional being that I have personally experienced, (I suspect there is far more), there is a oneness in a brilliant form of all knowing, all seeing light. If this is so then the question is, why do we come here in a highly reduced state of awareness not remembering who we truly are? Going through the pain of seeing loved ones die, suffering the losses and hardships that many of us must face during our lives? whatever happens to us in life, it is important we understand that our happiness or pain does not reflect either blessings or betrayal on the part of a God-oversoul, our guides, or life selection coordinators. We are the master of our own destiny." Michael had been skeptical about exploring the metaphysical, in fact, he originally refused repeatedly to undertake past life regression sessions which had become popular in the 50’s and 60’s, since Morey Berstein’s classic “The Search for Bridey Murphy” was published in 1956. Little did he know at that time what life held for him… The original book analyzed one-on-one recorded sessions with Dr. Newton and about 30 hypnotized subjects. In the book these were transcribed as follows:Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come ..." We believe this prayer, even as we know the greater reality that there is no Heaven and no Kingdom -- at least, not above the clouds or anywhere else our telescopes can see. Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer before there were any telescopes. Containerid_2 X0008 Donor I believe your spiritually gifted book has no comparison with any existing literature on the Spirit World, its laws and processes. Which is just fine if you're reading. You SEE who is the next talking, but you DON'T repeat it to yourself, thousands of times, as it was narrated, complete with "pause" and "surprised" and other stage directions being spoken. Ridiculous!

Llewellyn Worldwide does not participate in, endorse, or have any authority or responsibility concerning private business transactions between our authors and the public. Perhaps Simon Vance or any good voice actor. The book had one-on-one interviews with Dr. Newton and about 30 others. It would have been nice to have a different voice (whether real, by a separate person or with a simple change of tone.) I found Journey of Souls utterly fascinating, as well as Dr. Newton's sequel Destiny of Souls. However, my experience with these books was much more than mere intellectual fascination: both my husband and I experienced an utter paradigm shift about the afterlife, the Creator, and the purpose of life. Up until reading these books, I was still on the fence about reincarnation, and my husband's perspective was "no way!" The compelling regression sessions chronicled in this book convinced us otherwise, largely because of the consensus among regressed clients and how their reports confirmed some spiritual notions we were discovering on our own through direct experience. So we shrink from it. This is something we don't spend a lot of time wondering about as we go about our daily lives and habits, including the rituals and liturgy of church on Sundays.
