About this deal

Like Miss Flora McFlimsey's Halloween (the only other Miss Flora book I have read thus far), this felt a little dated to me, but still very sweet.

Old toys and dolls fascinated her all her life, and over the years she acquired an extensive collection. As these are old books, we processed each page manually and make them readable but in some cases some pages which are blur or missing or black spots. Original edition was published in [1949] and this unique edition is Reprinted in 2022 with the help of original edition.

As this print on demand book is reprinted from a very old book, there could be some missing or flawed pages, but we always try to make the book as complete as possible. I’m not normally a sentimental person, but I’ve saved this little book for 68 years and through 15 moves. A twice told tale, but rarely has it been more charmingly told, than in this quaint little story of a forlorn and forgotten. It is a tale about an old doll in a toy cupboard in the attic who decides to see the Christmas Tree one more time thanks to the stories about it from Timothy Mouse. In any case, I found this a fairly engaging tale, particularly as I enjoy doll stories that have a melancholy streak in them, and Miss Flora's early loneliness definitely fit the bill.

I remember reading Flora McFlimsy books when I was a very young child, checking them out at the library when I first was able to get a library card. I am thinking of passing it on to my granddaughter for her new baby girl; hoping she will also cherish it. Abandoned for many years in an attic, Miss Flora leads a lonely life, her only companion young Timothy Mouse, who visits her from time to time. An Original Leather is being used for binding this book with Golden Leaf Printing and designing on Spine, front and Back of the book with edge gilding. This is the story of Miss Flora McFlimsey, an old forgotten doll who lived in an attic with a torn box of tiddlywinks, a fat sheep on wheels, and an old, old doll's trunk. She also received many letters from grandmothers and great-grandmothers who remembered the nineteenth-century poem by William Allen Butler about the original Miss Flora McFlimsey, which was her inspiration for the Miss Flora stories. This endearing little book has the shining simplicity and the ageless appeal that is felt in the best loved for children the world over. We found this book important for the readers who want to know more about our old treasure so we brought it back to the shelves.
