About this deal

It is still a good read, it is still four stars, but it was not as mind blowing as the Lewis Trilogy or quite as enjoyable as Entry Island. This review and others are also published on Twitter, Instagram and my webpage https://sandysbookaday. By pure coincidence Enzo’s Scottish daughter is now living in Paris but she has made it perfectly clear that she wants nothing to do with her father or her half sister. First up is the disappearance – and presumed death – of a man who went missing in Paris 20 years ago. The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened.

On top of all that, he has the two daughters, one who is vying for his attention and the other who wants him to drop dead. The wager is that Enzo can find out what happened to Jacques Gaillard by applying new science to an old case. I had previously read his series based in China where I learnt so much about the culture as well as enjoying the series. This tiny isle off the coast of Brittany is the scene of a murder left shrouded in mystery and grief. Left your wife and family in Scotland to set up a concubinage in Cahors with a young lady who died giving birth to your daughter. It’s not my normal fare when it comes to crime teccy but Im sure it’ll appeal too many with its easy going ways. Having wagered that old murder cases could be solved using modern science, forensics expert Enzo Macleod must tackle the ‘cold’ case of Jacques Gaillard – but finds himself in danger when the investigation leads deep into the catacombs below Paris.

I found it to be an enjoyable read as long as you do not dig too deeply into it and I will be reading book 2. Looking back she realised she wasn't finished, so with her cantaloupe melons pushing against her shirt, she wrote more words in circles and drew arrows pointing to 'this book', 'predictable', 'one dimensional women', 'irritating daughters - who you don't mind dying', 'stereotypes', 'poorly written' and finally 'random unnecessary French words'.

Unfortunately it appears as though I’m working on a ‘read a Peter May book or series every twelve months’ schedule, but it is better late than never. His own feet slip and clatter as he scrambles through an alley between buttresses, heart squeezed by the hand of desperation.

If a refund is payable to you we will process the refund as soon as possible, and, in any case within fourteen (14) days. Peter May is wonderful at setting the scene, yet with this one he is merely flaunting his travelling budget. They could see distant twinkling pockets of streetlights, a church floodlit on the far horizon, the river Cère a thin, meandering band of silver far below.

He is elegant and elusive, putting in cameo appearances, knowing the right people to dig them out of difficulties, a man epitomised by his apartment. of our deliveries are made by Royal Mail as we think they give the best service and cover all areas of the UK. Enzo proves to be an ace investigator, scientific and intuitive, and, for all his missteps, one who hits his goals including a painful journey toward greater self-awareness.

With Sophie, Bertrand and his bouncy, ingenuous assistant Nicole in tow, Enzo travels what seems like almost the length and breath of France following and solving a clever collection of clues. I have enjoyed reading all of the Peter May books that I have read so far; in particular The Lewis triology series. Enzo Macleod is determined to see if he can succeed where others have failed and, as a result of a possibly rather ill-advised bet, he has 2,000 Euros he can’t afford to lose riding on the outcome.

Half-Scottish, half-Italian Enzo MacLeod used to be one of the top forensics experts in Scotland, and now he lives in Toulouse, working as a university professor. We mainly use Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service for goods which weight less then 2kg, all other goods will be delivered by a Courier. Enzo McLeod as the main character, a half Italian , half Scottish former forensics expert living in France, gives a lot of scope for character development. With travel being impossible for most of us these days, the extra effort made me feel as if I were actually on a trip to Paris. But between Enzo and his student assistant, aided by the Internet and forensics, logic and plain good luck, they triumph.
