About this deal

The initial idea was to have a tiny form factor system but running as beefiest components (CPU cooler and GPU) as it allows and it has to be air cooled. This is my biggest gripe with the QBX: many “standard” ATX power supplies are actually longer than 140mm, and thus won’t fit into the case because of the flange that holds it in place.

In my scenario I want to be able to install the NH-C14S where its heatsink is placed slightly to the left or to the under of that frame to be safe.

It’s angled in such a way to only easily fit one plug orientation, and that orientation happens to be pretty uncommon on power supplies, from what I’ve seen. Gave everything a clean, took the PSU apart and cleaned out the fan and suprisingly not much dust inside for 8 years of almost continuous operation. I was checking out the Fractal Design R5 case as it did fare well on my checklist, but your recommendations opens up a whole new list. There aren't any flashing LEDs or other design choices that scream, "Hey, look at me…I'm a gaming PC!

And quiet, especially—this case is small enough to sit on a desk, and I don’t want to hear its CPU fan whirring flat-out to stay cool. Today we’ve got their latest mini-ITX chassis, the QBX and it promises to be a competitive gaming chassis for the small form factor market.

If the cage is removed, a 240 mm liquid cooling radiator will fit but only one fan can be installed. Aside from some minor adjustments from the QBX version, the dimensions and overall look is exactly the same except looking like swiss cheese.
