J'ai trouvé la conclusion, en ce qui concerne Samson, idiote, il n'y a pas d'autre mot, avec l'impression une fois encore que l'auteur se ménageait les éléments nécessaires à une suite au détriment du patient, très patient lecteur et ça, franchement, ça m'agace. Je ne sais pas si c'est le dernier tome, mais l'enquête fil rouge du début est désormais résolue et je trouve ça bien qu'elle ne se soit pas trop étirée en longueur.

Samson is in London helping the Met, so Delilah is left to run the agency with newly minted detective Ida Capstick. Et j'ai beaucoup aimé l'intrigue avec les jeunes roumains, une nouvelle occasion de mettre en avant toutes les qualités d'Ida, mon personnage préféré de tous, et d'élargir un peu l'horizon de cette petite ville du Yorkshire.I very much enjoyed and will continue recommending this series to all who love a cosy crime or indeed as a palette cleanser for those who love more gritty crime. Developments in Samson and Delilah's relationship, as well as several others, are front and centre, but all while tying together a few seemingly unrelated jobs that have come into the Dales Detective Agency. Les personnages et les intrigues sont bien développés, on s'attache à ce village et à ses habitants.

Overall I think this is totally worth it, it has all the cozy vibes one could want, characters that are fun and with depth, a dog that is the most lovable thing, a slight romantic touch and a lot of mystery. in fact they were all leading up to this book which makes me hope that this is not the last that we hear from the Dales detective agency. Having published a series of novels set in the idyllic French Pyrenees, she has now turned her hand to crime.It’s hard to know which crackles with energy more, the various explosions and fires or their chemistry. The author does a fabulous job in drawing all the characters and the settings and if Bruncliffe was a real place I would definitely want to visit.
