About this deal

I really liked the step by step info on what to expect during labor, which I haven’t read yet elsewhere. The author, who doesn’t seem to have any scientific grounding, regurgitates personal experience and choice anecdotes as fact.

Work out what kind of birth you really want, and learn how to maximise your chances of getting it, in this refreshing, warm and witty guide to pregnancy, birth and the early weeks. When I had my children I myself would not consider that I was necessarily in pain either time, so I can see why they chose to skirt around that. It is also refreshing to read something positive about all types of birth - I didn't feel like I was being preached to.Siobhan's advice and guidance will change your mindset and enable you to navigate your birth with practical tools that ensure you feel calm and in control throughout.

Grant captures the inherent drama of giving birth with keen insights into the social and political forces that shape pregnancy and motherhood in America.suggestions and tips for pain relief from staying active to breathing, from kissing to opioids, from epidurals to hypnobirthing! Milli’s narration is perfect and talks you through all aspects of birth as though you’ve gone for a coffee and cake break with a mate. I've read where other people said if you were to read one book on childbirth this would be the book they would recommend. For example, I am rhesus negative and to be honest I never really understood what that meant, I just did what I was told!

It helps normalise some of the experiences of new parents in a way that is both reassuring but also gives you ideas of when you might want some extra support (and where from). Sarah Taylor'A much-needed, brilliant, reassuring, pioneering, kick-ass book that all women should read! I genuinely do not understand the bad reviews of this book; I can only imagine they come from a place of defensiveness and say more about the context of the reviewers than of the author. Prepare for a safe and joyful birth-with the help of America's foremost baby and childcare experts Since women enjoy more birthing options today than ever before, the path toward a safe and satisfying birth can be fraught with important decisions. Guardian 'I really liked Caroline Flint's style of writing – supportive of mothers, non-judgemental, and based on years of experience'.I appreciate the "my choice" method mentioned in the first chapter, but I couldn't not get into the book.
