About this deal

And as the soft unremarkable lumps of clay are hesitantly, lovingly moulded into delicate vases and majestic pots, so too are the lives of four women. Never does this feeling swell more in my breast than a) after an attempted US coup by a mad toddler president, or b) when such opining is done in the face of The Great Pottery Throw Down (Channel 4). When sexy Scot Sasha introduces his first pottery lesson, he compares the journey of clay from a moist lump to something beautiful with their personal transformations: they will go from strangers to friends, and solve all of their problems along the way. The wire from her bra had escaped into her cleavage – that’d teach her for bunging them in the machine instead of hand washing them.

If like me (and I imagine, Sara) you love The Great Pottery Throwdown then you will definitely enjoy this book. In November 2006, Cox was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Bolton for contributions to broadcasting. This book is very easy to read but to have made it more memorable I think the characters and the plot needed some added layers and a bit more complexity. The lives of Becky, Louise, Jameela and Sheila are riven with the kind of problems, sacrifices and tribulations so many of us face so that it feels as if all modern life is present.

Sara is known and loved by millions of Radio 2 listeners, where she presents the Sara Cox Show 5-7 pm. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was more than pleasantly surprised with this well told story full of likeable well written characters. Further, there is a disparity between the deemed age of the women, their described personalities and their actual behaviour in the novel. The characters are all really well written and likeable (except Tony - Becky's criminal ex) and there is plenty of comedy.

On 23 June 2013, Cox tweeted a picture to announce she had just married her long-term boyfriend and fiancé Ben Cyzer. Sara Cox has used her experience presenting The Pottery Throw Down to produce this great book about a group of strangers brought together by a pottery class at their local community centre. Not that I've read the ending, but I think it's pretty clear to see where this one will go - a nice, romantic story about the strength of a women-led community, and how in small ways we can all change the world (even if all we do is attend a local pottery class).I’ve got nits again from Elsie – little buggers love me, treat my scalp like an-all-you-can-eat- buffet they do. Cox's last weekend show was on Sunday 17 February 2008 before she left for six months' maternity leave. Cox was one of 52 celebrities contributing to a children's story entitled Once Upon a Time [49] to promote a new charity directory inquiries number 118 520. If you can make something – if you can combine butter, eggs and flour into a cake the shape of a mermaid’s grotto, or bombazine and thread into a halterneck prom dress, or paint, cardboard and glitter into an eye-catching Christmas ornament, I revere you as a god.

in 2012, Cox covered for Alex Lester, the late Janice Long, Ken Bruce, and Vanessa Feltz, as well as providing cover for Simon Mayo Drivetime and Steve Wright in the Afternoon. On 16 September 2007, Cox announced, on her BBC Radio 1 weekend show, that she was expecting her second child. She has also presented a number of television shows for the BBC including The Great Pottery Throw Down (2015–2017), Too Much TV (2016) and Back in Time for. Sara Cox to present new weekday Drivetime show on Radio 2, Trevor Nelson to present 10pm-midnight show". listeners during her first fifteen months in the job—earning Radio 1 its largest breakfast audience ever—higher than that of her predecessor and ex- BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Evans. Cox won her first television show role in 1996, presenting the early "Girl Power" show The Girlie Show on Channel 4.

He’s so sweet and so heartbreaking trying to look after his mum - it absolutely broke my heart – and I’m really excited about Douglas Stuart’s new book. Giving up meat was for her a different story, however, saying: "My dad is a beef farmer so he wouldn't be best pleased. The women each have a different character, as well as varying problems, and they eventually find they can gain solace from each other and perhaps find some answers to their issues. Cox attended Smithills High School until the age of 16, and left Canon Slade School after her A-levels to pursue a career in modelling.
