Some copies feature a red or pink circular hype sticker with the following text: "tears for fears includes sowing the seeds of love woman in chains 838 730 1". Astonishing album that has aged exceedingly well and effortlessly blends contrasting musical styles. It isnt a bad album by any means and the songs I mentioned are definitely worth a listen but, like many albums out there, it wouldnt be my first choice.I really don’t know who was the incredible GENIUS behind this work of art, but I am a fan of that guy. Orzabal continued under the band name, releasing the albums 'Elemental' (1993) and 'Raoul and the Kings of Spain' (1995), while Smith moved to the US and began a solo career. Songs from the Big Chair is the second studio album by English pop rock band Tears for Fears, released on 25 February 1985 by Phonogram Records. A clean mint copy of this album is highly recommended especially when they're going so cheaply on here. I found the US to be better balanced, solid bass and mids presence with a good amount treble and detail.

The 30th Anniversay was last year, but strangely they re issued The Hurting instead (which was still awesome).

on top of it, the material has aged beautifully well, in a way that still makes it a personal favorite in the current landscape of pop music at large. pretty much the only pop-rock album i've consistently enjoyed ever since having been introduced to it. Purchased off of The Sound of Vinyl UK and it came without a hype sticker or anything to indicate it was the coloured version.

Founded after the dissolution of their first band, the mod-influenced Graduate, Tears for Fears were initially associated with the new wave synthesizer bands of the early 1980s. Shout plus Mothers Talk (and many more tracks ) influenced Hip Hop then Techno, House, Ambient Rave then proto Jungle and Dnb from coast to coast. Curt would personally like to thank Frances, Steve and Booney, Theo and Louise, Paul and Heather, Dave and Mary . This is an amazing underrated album I’ve luckily owned since its original release back in 1989 and somehow sounds better now than it ever did.Woman In Chains’ and ‘Badmand’s Song’ my personal favourites, with Oleta Adams adding her warm silky vocals to these tracks. Songs from the Big Chair spawned the commercially successful singles "Mothers Talk", "Shout", "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", "Head over Heels", and "I Believe".
