About this deal

A good old fashioned back to basics page turning mystery that didnt need to rely on the word GIRL in it's title to get reader's attention as word of mouth or should I say reader reviews did the trick.

This is typical (and sort of a requirement, actually) of an action movie or TV show—getting to know the characters would slow the plot down, and half the fun is the speed.

And of course, in particular, we were very careful about not spoiling the carefully kept reveal that they have in their story. Threatened with harm to themselves or their baby if they go to the police, Harry and Alice try to put the incident behind them. Stalker has summoned Joyce, the mother of Köpernick's son, but she is not Stoppard's ex-wife, exonerating him.

Luckily I managed to finally find a copy of the book a while ago and it's been really interesting going back to the memories of this story. This started out as one of the most promising James Patterson novels to date, mostly because it feels so atypical from the rest of his body of work. It’s a story about a woman whose fiancée recently died, and as the story opens, she’s preparing for a glamping weekend in Zion National Park. The dialogue here is pitched at a millennials level with influencer-type people referring to their "socials" and using various other youth slang. It breaks down fairly complicated procedures and institutions (electoral college, hello) in a way that's easy to understand and keeps things interesting with plenty of pertinent historical anecdotes and factoids. Dennis explains that he killed Köpernick and Mervyn in an attempt to stop the play and its adaptation, disgusted by the exploitation of his brother's tragedy for entertainment.

They're convinced that Harry and Alice know the whereabouts of a man named Edward Renshaw, a man who goes by other names, such as Grainger or Miller. But the film’s so plain in its ambitions – in its sense of giddy, well-intentioned fun – that it feels a little pointless to scorn its more superficial choices. I felt several decades removed from that and it was difficult to identify with anyone, except perhaps the parents who were offscreen for most of the story anyway. Not just that, the fact that Harry WENT TO WORK the next day, was just so stupidly unbelievable to me. VIP complaints to the owner/friend go unresolved, regular unexpected power outages lead to unsafe environment, running out of hot water, no mosquito netting in tents, running out of food when the next option is 30 minutes away.

With only a quarter of 2016 gone, I have to ask myself if this will be one of the most memorable books of this year? I felt this complete uneasiness when she was out of the snuggly, when she had an open-air vulnerability. If I enjoyed the film, it was largely because of the performance of Saoirse Ronan as Inspector Stoppard’s sidekick: Ronan lights up the screen as a naively enthusiastic constable whose head is stuffed with movie-memories and who can’t see a false conclusion without jumping to it. Terrifying, unputdownable and full of twists and turns, this stunning thriller will have you on the edge of your seat right to the very last page. The title was appropriate for the novel, for sure, but it is perhaps my only criticism - I'd like to see something more original, something not competitive with such a huge author like James Patterson.

The writing constantly moved forward, albeit never on a straight road, but harsh curves left and right at top speeds.I found a copy at work with the plans to skim it out of curiosity and ended up reading the entire thing. In some states the winner of the primary takes some of the delegates and so do the other candidates based on how much of the popular vote they earned.
