About this deal

The film has a much more theatrical look and feel to it with grain being all but eliminated, increased color bandwidth and improved detail. The DTS HD Master Audio mix hasn’t been upgraded to a Dolby Atmos track, but it’s of little consequence. To celebrate the 25th anniversary, the new remastered Blu-Rays by Paramount Home Entertainment are looking spectacular!

Lines are razor sharp and fine detail from faces through to clothing textures and the sharp lines of medium to long shots to help pick out all that loving homage in the set dressing and locations is top notch.

The genius of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s seminal original was that not only was it a knowing, clever and witty pastiche of an entire genre, but it worked as piece of that genre itself. Gale and Dewey believe that the murderer is trying to send a message to Sidney and they must solve that before everyone ends up dead. A reclusive Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is pulled out of hiding and off to Hollywood when someone starts killing the cast members of film-within-a film Stab 3. There’s also a steelbook version of Scream 3 arriving on the same date--giving dedicated Scream fans a collectible option. This 4K disc uses the film’s original 4K digital intermediate and creates a very good native 3840 x 2160p resolution image with the original aspect ratio of 2.

SCREAM is available now to Download and Keep and is out on 4K Ultra HD™ + Blu-ray™ SteelBook®, 4K UHD™, Blu-ray™, and DVD on April 11. included one new extra in the form of a retrospective/thinly veiled pitch for the new 2022 Scream film. Here though, not only do you have Parker Posey pratfalling like in a Jim Carrey movie, but shoe-horned in cameos from the likes of Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob hint at a level of smug-satisfaction, likely driven by studio honchos The Weinstein’s basking in the reflected glory of their golden goose and their place atop the Hollywood hills.Hair colors dazzle, natural greens leap off the screen, and all variety of colors are solidly grounded in reality. Other than that, 'Scream 3' doesn't look half bad and makes a passable entry into the world of high-def video. All of the Scream movies tend to have a nice balance of daytime, sun-kissed skies juxtaposed with the dark of night (and the red of blood). Although lacking some of the smarts found in the previous two movies, 'Scream 3' does come with some good, hearty laughs and a few witty jabs at the film industry.

It still retains its superb central cast and with a better and cleverer narrative than the previous film, despite losing some its focus on its set-pieces, it’s a case of so close. It even manages to reference itself, the famous opening kill now taking out one of the core cast rather than a newbie, a clear nod to riffing on itself and its this sense of knowing playfulness that, fully at ease with having established its genre creds and love in the previous films, now can just have some real fun with its meta winking and narrative pokes. It's white and has a crudely ripped or torn look to it with the feel of light flowing through it from the back. The laughs and smarts are still there, but it all adds up to a silly conclusion that takes fans to a deep, dark past. Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 3 will also be available in Scream: The Original Trilogy 3-movie collection on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray.Set during the production of Stab 3, the movie starts off with some amusingly intriguing nudges at the Hollywood system, and the kills play out much like they do in the script of the faux-horror flick. Yet another disappointment that nothing new could have been added – especially as the 1080p trilogy set came with feature length making-of documentaries that really should have been included at some point across these new films. Every one of the well-meaning cast and crew are so enamoured by the minutiae of how they’ve painstakingly and slavishly recreated the look, the locations, the shots, the everything of the first film, even down to the directors of this – Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – telling us with huge smiles that when they didn’t know what to do, they’d just watch the first film and ‘do their version of that’, that it soon becomes obvious this is more than just a basic remake of the first film.
