About this deal

The diverse tracklisting and exceptional sound quality on vinyl, coupled with the iconic album art, make this release a nostalgic treasure that can be enjoyed by generations to come. Parklife is the most interesting, however, as the third CD contains 10 unreleased demos from the 1993 sessions, including an early take of “To The End” with Elastica’s Justine Frischmann –Damon Albarn’s then-partner – whispering in French on backing vocals. If anyone can point me towards this version or at least the closest thing to it, I would be very appreciative. These copies feature a sticker ("Coloured Vinyl Gold") and a barcode sticker covering the barcode on back of sleeve. Parklife" is an irreplaceable slice of British pop culture that solidified Blur's place in music history.

Curious as to why this didn’t get repressed like the others, which seemed to be pressed in greater quantities and for longer? Double LP on heavyweight 180 gram, audiophile vinyl and housed in a replica of the original sleeve artwork. Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. Albarn's fascination with urban decay was apparent on MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH, but with the followup PARKLIFE, Blur embraces the modern.Comprised of various labels we know and love at Rough Trade (Bella Union, ATO, Speedy Wunderground, Phantasy, Heavenly, Mute and more) PIAS [Recordings] filter through some of the most diverse artistry to our racks, which we greatly enjoy digging into. That satisfied my appetite for B-Sides and non-album stuff enough to resist the double CDs, although it cost me more and the tracks were not lossless. This extraordinary four-disc set rounds up everything Blur produced around the time of Parklife, including the original album, remixes, radio sessions, demos and live performances. Funnily experimental and seriously radio-friendly, "Parklife" is their true concept album, somewhat informed by the predecessor LP "Modern Life Is Rubbish", an intriguing statement-by-title, fully absorbed with "Parklife" into a tour-de-force, socio-political 16-track masterpiece. I'm sure I read in the past on here that the 2012 vinyl reissues were 'OK' but nothing to get excited about, but I can't find much reference to them anywhere.

I do not know Blur at all and there are clearly way too many versions of this album to try and figure it out. Ahhh the joys of opening the sealed black copy you thought you had sat on the shelf for a few years only to find a limited colour edition inside. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Jalen perform live knows that he is one of the most captivating performers on today's soul scene. the original is appealing in that it's nice and warm but at the expense of immediacy and spatial information.Light creasing and wear to sleeve and insert, record has a couple of light isolated scratches but overall just has light crackle and noise at times. I haven't heard the 2012 double album, but the original 1994 UK sounds very good, Girls and Boys sounds fantastic on it. Hailed as the quintessential Britpop album, "Parklife" encapsulates the zeitgeist of the '90s with unforgettable anthems, witty insights, and thought-provoking themes. I feel like there's a lump on a certain bass frequency that makes it very resonant, the selftitled for example is much more flat (and pleasing). Over its 40 years in business, PIAS has grown to be one of the largest independently-owned music groups in the world, carving out its own in-house recorded music division PIAS [Recordings]. La calidad de sonido es excelente, lo único que le falta es solo un poquitíto más de volumen pero todo lo demás (prensado, master utilizado y equalización) es muy bueno. But the vinyl release presented the album in an entirely new light, wowing me with its enriched sound and warmth. The only difference is that one of the pressings is on typical thin vinyl (common on LPs/12" singles from this period. The vinyl release of Blur's "Parklife" provides a superior listening experience as it accentuates the depth and warmth of the band's rich, textured soundscapes. The warmth and depth of sound unique to the vinyl format elevate the album's indelible melodies and captivating themes. It's a must-have for fans of both Blur and '90s Britpop, and a cherished addition to my ever-growing vinyl collection.

Parklife" on vinyl breathes new life into Blur's acclaimed album, offering a superior listening experience for fans and audio enthusiasts alike. Nothing about it sounded that different from the cd of the same remaster, so when I had the chance to sell it for like 75 dollars, I took it. The blur vinyl sounds good, but the original uk of Parklife cd sounds a bit better than the 2012 vinyl. At a time when Oasis were a ping the sounds of their pub-rock heroes on Definitely Maybe, Blur drew from the legacy of the Kinks and Small Faces to create an album that's as English as a rainy Sunday in front of the gas fire. It can't be the reissue from 2012 as that pressing came on two discs, and this one has all tracks on one slab of vinyl. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Witty, ironic and irreverent, Parklife remains one of those rare albums that sum up a specific place and time (Britain in the mid-1990s).
