The oud is blatantly synthetic, restrained and lacks any sharpness or crassness - an unobtrusive oud. An olfactory encounter between East and West, which is a reoccurring theme for oud-infused scents, it would seem, was front and centre when Guerlain’s in-house perfumer, Thierry Wasser, started work on this epic woody, leather-based fragrance. Excellent longevity for me, and I don't know enough about sillage yet to do ratings on it, but I figure this would go high up on my list.

An oud unlike any other; Oud Eclat, turns this mesmerising but often polarising perfumery ingredient on its head. Overall a very seductive and sensual creation by versace and a must have for oriental fragrance lovers.
