We don’t mind this less-saturated look at all –years of reviewing phones and their cameras tends to make you more sensitive to over saturation than the opposite – but you may feel differently. Night-time images are fairly poor; but we actually expected them to be worse given the Nokia G21’s small sensor. Processing is done by a Unisoc T606 chipset, complete with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. That being said, I don’t think the Nokia G21’s cameras can do enough to outweigh the phone’s long list of negatives. Long battery life and stripped-back software are a good fit for people looking for a no-nonsense, low-upkeep Android device, but the Nokia G21 is beaten in other areas by rivals from Realme and Xiaomi. There’s a poor 2-megapixel macro camera and a basic depth sensor for background-blurred portrait pictures.
Currently, you’re seeing budget devices include some pretty impressive speakers; the unit here is mediocre. The Nokia G21’s panel is below average, despite having a 90Hz refresh rate that makes menus appear to scroll more smoothly – when they’re not afflicted by mild UI judder, which happens fairly regularly. Going a digit behind the times, the Nokia G21 has arrived, attempting to deliver an affordable all-around package with an emphasis on battery life. Yes, the design is rather nice and the clean Android installation is always a positive, but the phone’s so-so performance and weak battery life don’t help the Nokia G21 pull away from the competition.

points to a screen that’s far from being considered colour-accurate, with wild inconsistencies throughout. We’re still miles off the quality of a great night-time shooter, but “mediocre” is better than “awful”. Display color is slightly weak, too, although may not prove off-putting if you like a laidback appearance. Honestly, I’m shocked that Nokia is okay with how this screen looks, and it’s a serious downside from what should have otherwise been the star of the show.I was particularly impressed with the Nokia G21’s portrait images, which for the most part captured my subject rather well. The Nokia G21 can capture slow-motion and timelapse videos, as well as stitched-together panorama images. The phone just doesn’t offer the peak brightness required to deliver respectable clarity in high levels of ambient light.
