About this deal

My favorite bit was the information about gardening by the moon as I had heard about it before, but was largely unfamiliar with the practice. A thorough exploration of all things lunar, along with meditations based around the phases of the moon. Seeing this led me to doublecheck other things I was unsure of which led me to page 104 where the Author claims that Eliphas Levi (Alphonse Louis Constant) the magician who played a large part in turning Tarot from card game to divination tool was a Catholic Priest when according to all of the sources I checked he abandon his path towards Priesthood, having only been ordained as a Deacon and allowed employment as a preacher, before branching off into mysticism and getting married.

harnessing moon magic with herbs, crystals and essential oils; also the moon and tarot reading; and of course the moon spells that are super cute, and ritual suggestions for each cycle. The author does give good tips on moon meditations, she gives you information about different lunar phases and what effects it could have, which were very helpful. The book is separated into four sections, each building upon the next; the fourth giving suggestions for advanced Moon work.In the back of the book is a section of several rituals and spells for each of the new moon, waxing moon, full moon and waning moon phases. However, when talking about menstruation, the author makes a point of referring to it as the "female menstruation cycle. These elemental forces can be "drawn down" into the priest and priestess during their ceremonies and used for magical ends. The viewpoint of Lilith Le Fay is purely pagan, and she is a rebel against society, bent upon its alteration.

She's probably trying to be relatable, but it rubs me the wrong way because at no point is she saying to consult medical or nutritional professionals. I like that sense of connection that Rachel seems to interweave through the entire book, and look forward to reading more. For the experienced and the beginner a way to attune your magic and your life with the cycles of the Moon. But I find a lot of repetitive information in this book, and instead of several times bringing up the difference between the moon phases I wish she would just refer back to the first page where she explains them. I am currently reading Gareth Knight's biography of Dion Fortune, after which, I will be done with my Dion Fortune readings. She reminds us of our ties to one another all over the world, and points out that the moon's phases are the same for all of us on any given night, whether we are viewing her majestic beauty in Australia, China or Europe. There is also some decent information on various celestial correspondences, but again you'll want to double check everything against other sources to ensure accuracy. This book is a teaching tool about how the moon affects our lives and how to use the different phases and signs to make your life better. We move from the phases of the moon into the seasonal moon and examine different ways of using a moon calendar including relating it to the controversial Celtic Tree calendar.

Much of the book is in teeny-weeny font, which might be fine if you're 22, but for anyone of reading-glasses age, it's less than ideal. Dark Moon (often mistakenly taken as a New Moon) is a phase when the Moon is not visible in the sky.It goes into details on how to follow the moon in everyday life, for gardening, healing, and many other aspects of life. I also learned about candle magic, lunar meals, lunar gardening, eclipses, astrology signs and even what a blue moon is and how to work with it.

What the men (Wilfred in the last book, Rupert in this one) expect and what they end up with are very far apart indeed, and one can't help but feel a bit sorry for them, as they inevitably fall in love with her. From new moons and eclipses to blue moons and the super moon, there are ample opportunities for the moon to influence our emotions and thoughts. Lilith is a fascinating woman, especially for her time, not only because she lives entirely by her own lights but also because she is an unabashed predator, who willfully emanates a powerful spiritual and sexual magnetism to attract potential acolytes to her, hoping that she may find one to initiate as a priest in her rituals. Facts are listed in well written, easy to consume bites, and each section that stems after is broken down in such a way it could almost be used as a reference book.

Two of her novels, The Sea Priestess and Moon Magic, became influential within the religion of Wicca, especially upon Doreen Valiente. Work on your personal space: clean your ritual area, start or decorate your Book of Shadows, look up spells online, or take a cleansing bath.
