If you have this model, or a model out at around the same time, the batteries you are using could easily be more than a decade old and in that time they might have been recharged hundreds of times. Shooting a few images and then charging the battery will shorten its life far quicker than using the battery untilit is almost flat and then recharging it. The ‘Battery info’ menu option has filtered down to enthusiast models and can now also be found on the EOS 750D and 760D cameras, introduced in February 2015.
