About this deal

I instantly downloaded it on my kindle, and before I go any further, as a mother of a 12 year old - I would not let him read this or recommend it to any one under the age of 16 - please check the disclaimers and trigger warnings. Following his viral popularity, Warner is scheduling additional book signings in the Dallas area to meet the popular demand for his book. Navigating through everything wasn’t so lonely thanks to two or should I say multiple people lol one of them being her cousin Myra who was the sweetest. An Arlington author who seemed to be having trouble ginning up interest for his book now has an overnight hit on his hands. There is also a typo, (the instead of they), which is a personal pet peeve of mine and probably doesn't bother other readers.

I usually read psychological thrillers or romance but I HAD to give this book a try after seeing him on tiktok just trying to get his book out there and i’m so glad I did! A 19 yo girl decides to go skinny dipping in front of 16 yo main character regardless of MC’s comfort level. Shawn Warner was at an empty book signing for Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor when a Fort Worth TikToker took notice. As a result of his service, Warner got into skydiving, SCUBA, bungee jumping, martial arts, and guitar. Myra (19) describes going skinny dipping in a nearby river at age 10, which really didn't add to the plot and felt weird and unnecessary.

If you're like me, you were expecting a story that would keep you on the edge of your seat while simultaneously tickling your funny bone. This book is a gem, a well-thought-out tale that weaves suspense, laughter, and a dash of the unexpected into an unforgettable narrative. I did find that the main character was incredibly headstong and suffered from intense anger issues for a 16 year old. Ill always support an upcoming author, I think as his first book, that is a huge accomplishment and I love seeing how much joy, popularity, happiness this has brought him!

Again, she's 16 and her response to this is a sheepish "Oh I'd deserve it" which is both unrealistic and creepy.Warner was there to promote his debut novel, Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor, but, as Swearenjin describes, he seemed “super defeated” from the lack of interest in his display.

It was a good story and dealt with heavy topics in a real way without being inappropriate for the intended age.Told from the third-person perspective of its titular heroine, Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor is a young adult fiction novel telling the story of Leigh Howard, a recent orphan investigating the mysterious circumstances of her parents death while navigating her new life in the Simmons-Pierce manor and her new family, along with the manor's multifaceted ghost, Ichabod Pierce. When the police tell her they have no leads in the case, she decides to take matters into her own hands, turning to a ghostly friend for help.

It's the kind of story that consumes you, leaving you with a fervent desire to uncover every secret and solve every puzzle. Shawn Warner was promoting his debut book at a Kroger in north Fort Worth when a TikToker, Jerrad “Red” Swearengin, stopped to make conversation. However, after the TikTok creator posted a video of Warner's book signing on his page, sales went through the roof. My comment is about where the murder “mystery” leads, this was my least favourite part, it was more complicated than the rest of the book and not as interesting, it didn’t fit with the book vibe in my opinion. Now, Leigh has been placed with a wealthy family of relatives that she doesn’t know and is determined to solve her parents’ murder. The cover depicts Leigh, a 16 year old, clad in skin-tight black leather and arching on a motorbike.
