About this deal

It becomes infuriating to listen to her life as she keeps making mistakes and being rewarded by being loved and adored by all who know her, and being melodramatic about her own guilt (while, seemingly, to not have learnt much to apply to her current/future behaviour). As Zoe opens up about her troubled past, she begins dealing with her sense of guilt, grief, and remorse over what happened to her one fateful summer night. I won't tell you how much I love you, or how scared I am of being without you, or how I need to hide away from everyone because no one will ever compare to you. Unable to confess to a priest, who might just possibly be without sin, she tells all to Harris, who has been found guilty of the crime she's got away with.

S. Harris lives thousands of miles away in Houston, Texas and is one of the only people who might understand Zoe's situation; he knows what it's like to have killed someone he loves. So if you are one of the 97% who loved Ms Nelson’s writing, then I urge you to pick this one up because I think you’ll like it. Ketchup Clouds is without question one of the best books I have ever read…" Scroll down to read the rest of this review and all the reader reviews. The story of Zoe, who suffered a serious illness, is an inspiring example of how strong human spirit can be. Because teens think that sexting is fine and such, when it's creation and distribution and possessing child pornography legally is extraordinarily problematic. How can Zoe manage her own feelings without hurting the boys especially when she’s also coping with puzzling dramas at home?

These characters here were flawed and unreliable and honestly at times pretty terrible - but I loved them. I'm tempted to writing a sarky fanfic series of letters from her prison pen pal telling her she's a twit. They plan to tell Max of their feelings, but since Max and Aaron’s father is about to marry a new woman, Aaron knows Max isn’t in the right mind frame. That the death is of a character who has just proven himself a douchenozzle, sexual-assaulting bastard and therefore deserves death doesn't even rate as a counterbalance to the problems of his earlier, more manipulative actions not being seen as awful.

Primarily, however, the problem is the forced suspense, as it impairs the entire plot and character development. Okay that sounded gross but it is kinda true in a realistic sense anyway I think this is a good time to wrap this point up before I get carried away. During one flashback, Zoe describes finding a puzzlehidden under his bed and they finish it together and talk about being "secret nerds". Max apologizes for the photo he took and kisses Zoe on the cheek as he looks at her with genuine remorse. It was James Mease, a Philadelphia scientist, who invented tomato ketchup based on his own recipe in 1812. Her highly-acclaimed, award-winning debut, My Sister Lives on the Mantlepiece was undoubtedly a hard act to follow, yet Annabel Pitcher’s second novel is equally impressive.
