Now I am a fan of Gardena products, I have a few of their garden products, including this Gardena auto hose, and their products have always impressed me, and this spreader is no different. It also adds some nutrients to the lawn and also helps keeps the birds from eating all your new seed. All lawn spreaders have a lever to close the hopper opening, but you generally have to bend down to operate it.

A more affordable option I’ve also used is this Gardena Spreader XL and Scotts EasyGreen Rotary Spreader.Since it’s a broadcast spreader, it still lacks the accuracy offered by a drop spreader, even if it is faster.

Don’t worry about using up all the lawn care product in the hopper too quickly, though, as the 58kg it holds covers around 2,300m2.

Maybe, more importantly, it’s also one of the most affordable models which is something I tend to look for myself, I often ask myself, does it offer good value for money?
