Printed two per page, these are a perfect revision tool for students in your class or as an intervention resource to aid students. We were looking for evidence that the students had engaged with the tasks, rather than producing the swathes of copied-out notes and highlighting that are often a poor proxy of revision. We hear many students saying things like: “you don’t need to revise for English language because you’re given the extract on the day”; or even that “you can’t revise for English language”. For each topic, there are exam-style sample questions with fully-worked answers, and at the end of the book there are step-by-step guides to tackling Paper 1 and Paper 2 — complete with sample answers to show students what’s needed to achieve grades 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9.
marks are available for good old SPAG (spelling punctuation and grammar), so make sure you use a range of vocabulary and sentence structures with accurate spelling and punctuation.
