Echidna, like other female monsters that had the upper body of a beautiful woman and the lower body of any sort of dragon, was part of the Dracaenae (female dragon monsters). I didn’t have very high expectations getting into it, and it didn’t grip my interest right away, but I’m so SO glad that I decided to continue, because it got so much better! Dallas who is the heroine’s adopted sister/best friend (has a male/female name, similar to Bryce from crescent city, Dallas is also described almost exactly like Bryce to the wine colored hair) except she’s muscular.

Vampires and werewolves and demons and witches and the like make up the dominant demographic, with humans like the poor protagonist being second class citizens and erstwhile food sources. Sure, the dialogues were sometimes repetitive and too hard to go through without cringing, and there was an impressive amount of time-jumps and fade-to-black cuts where the author left out some of what could have been really juicy scenes, but it was overall not the garbage pit it would have been if the characters alone were in charge of carrying the book.This book could have been filled with plot holes (it wasn’t) and not made a lick of sense (not true) and I wouldn’t have cared because I couldn’t get enough of him. Angelthene is a sprawling metropolis city catered to and favored supernatural beings, therefore it is a city that treated humans as lesser beings since they do not belong to the immortal demographic. The main character was a bit unpredictable, but I didn't know that the story would go in another direction, and OMG.
