I would also recommend this book to anyone interested in better understanding AS, and especially for anyone looking to better understand how gender is a factor in diagnose and social acceptance of disabilities like AS and Autism. Never the less, I prefer this metaphore 🙂 as we, my girlfriend and I, just work with different media while we feel quite the same things. We've been doing a big loft conversion this year and almost every trades person has let us down in some way. I'm now pretty sure that I do - the reasons are too numerous to list, but having had the same breakfast for the past 20+ years and finding my weird pattern-matching ability described as "fluid intelligence" and an Aspergers savant skill.And the least ones to be picked up are the princessy, super model type of girls, because they’re very superficially social and they have a high IQ and they’ve told me that they’ve taught themselves by mimicking and copying and knowing what to do and what to say and they’re quite high achievers.
