About this deal

The first two books of the series titled Watermelon (1995) and Rachel’s Holiday (1997) respectively have both received highly acclaimed critics and rated at a 4. There are some men who are so good-looking that meeting them is like being hit on the head with a mallet. This story starts in Dublin but soon crosses the Atlantic where a whole new life unfolds for the main character, running away from an awful betrayal.

She discovers her husband is having an affair and her boss wants to fire her, she therefore flees to Hollywood to stay with her best friend. Each novel in the series has its story; like in Watermelon whatever happens to Clare the readers will have to relate to her emotionally. After living a lonely life for some time, Claire begins to feel better and starts living happily due to her affection towards her child. During this time she also wrote The Mystery of Mercy Close, a novel in which the heroine experiences similar battles with depression and suicide attempts as those Keyes herself experienced.

Then the last time I’d managed to come up with some spurious excuse which Garv had agreed with all too readily. The story revolves around her journey to recovery while oscillating between the past and present in a bid to give the readers more insight into her life. Marian Keyes is a international bestselling novels include Rachel's Holiday, Last Chance Saloon, Sushi for Beginners, Angels, The Other Side of the Story, Anybody Out There, This Charming Man and The Woman Who Stole My Life. Garv pulled off his tie, flung it over the back of a chair, then raked his fingers through his hair, shaking away the vestiges of his work persona. In Angels, Keyes moves from her usual venues - suburban and boomtown Dublin - to Los Angeles and the film industry.

We hadn’t expected that this evening would be just the two of us; we’d been kind of depending on Liam and Elaine to dilute the funny atmosphere between us. Marian’s books are global bestsellers, consistently charting in the top ten in Brazil, Spain, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

Discover this hilarious, heart-warming story about how far one woman will go to find herself, from the No. Her publishers had posted copies of Watermelon but no one was at home to sign for them, so they were taken back to the depot. Rachel’s holiday is the second publication in the series and was published three years after Watermelon in 1998.
