We had tried other avenues and meds before but it’s almost a comfort him only at bed time, so we thought this might help. Wish I had been given this advice earlier as would have saved a fortune (I am a widowed pensioner) and a far happier dog.

I am writing this so if anyone out there has a dog with the same illnesses, allergies and sensitivities as my girl, please speak to your vet first before giving anything containing these ingredients. Sorry for going on, is he back to full healthy no licking skin yet , no, but he is 90% better, the smell going is the best indicator he's healing. Bought a new box of the pro biotic treats this week only to find they have changed shape, texture, smell and colour. Apoquel twice a day for 9 years which has resulted in other health issues arising over this extended period of time and I wanted an alternative to this medication if possible. They didn't work for my dog anyway, his itching is maybe even worse than before, going down the vet route now which I should have done in the first place. It's taken around 4 weeks to see the full effect but he has stopped itching altogether and his coat looks so glossy!My frenchie still continues to chew paws and scratches ears-both of which these are meant to soothe. About 7 days ago, about 2 weeks in, I increased him to 3 treats, because he still licks his belly and the black mouldly looking skin hasn't all gone . I'm afraid my girl will live a shorten life because of Apoquel, as the vet has already told me it's doubtful she'll see her 13th birthday.
