all the reviews saying this is better than the first book are driving me insane considering how the pace here is so. He mentions that everything he loves has rotted due to the Ascended leading Poppy to point out that she was raised by the Ascended. On her way to being escorted to her room, Poppy meets Alistair, the wolven who is the advisor to the King and Queen of Atlantia, but she doesn’t get much of a chance to speak with him.
