About this deal

The lower treble continues on from the over-zealous upper midrange, and the treble has moderate extension thereafter. The Star River are not too sparkly or airy on the first tuning option, and on the second tuning option (red/blue graphs), the treble drops off a cliff. The Shells are made of all metal alloy by way of melting and casting and then polished to a mirror finish and capped off with CNC engraving of the logo on the faceplate area. It appears that one screw holds two halves together which is a nice touch. Simgot added female threads as well so that the tuning nozzles may be screwed on or off to suit your taste and tuning preferences. At normal sound pressure level, the distortion does not cause any sound contamination or compression feeling. EA500 are very clean IEMs. I love her voice and the way it is recorded listen for the strums on the guitar - I have seen Ms. Chapman live a few times; so In my mind, I try and remember how she sounds like 5ft from me as I was blessed to experience) The Star River have slightly better technical prowess, with improved soundstage, micro-detailing, clarity, instrument separation, and imaging. However, the bar is low, as other DD-type transducers easily beat the Star River in this department. Where to Buy

It gives more shimmer and sizzle on the cymbals strikes to give a good airy extension (for a single DD). What’s impressive about the EA500’s midrange is its dynamic range. It can convey a wide range of emotions, from bright and cheerful to sombre and melancholy. The mids have a captivating quality that draws the listener in, with layers of nuance and detail that reveal themselves over time. Many people have already begun modding their EA500’s with “Y3” Filters placed over the front vent or gone with different tips or even nozzle filters. The great thing is the flexibility the EA500 has with any modification or change. Timbre isn’t 100% natural either (off-natural) though because the sound is so resolute and clean it almost doesn’t matter to me. I think the sound fantastic on this set. Treble Region The inner surface area of the shells is slightly uneven in physical texturing design, they say, which allows for the suppression of standing waves on the inside of each earpiece. Moreover, the exterior of the shells has a magnificent polish job that really invokes a “much more expensive than they actually are” vibe. Not all hype trains are merely hype my friends. Sometimes the hype carries a semblance of justification, and sometimes… it’s flat-out justified! The EA500 certainly has some big shoes to fill if it is going to usurp some of the best. The Simgot EA500 everyone… No remuneration or compensation, such as a manuscript fee, has been received for publishing this, and it is an honest evaluation based on measurement data from personal testing and personal opinion.

The nozzle filters are screwed on – the red filter is on by default. The 2-pin connectors are slightly recessed into the housing. Please note that aftermarket cables with qdc connectors will not work with such recessed 2-pin ports. The nozzle can be screwed off and swapped. The chassis is fashioned from metal, with a mirror-like, hand-polished alloy faceplate. I’ve no complaints on the build front; these IEMs are very solidly made. The tuning switch board is found on the sides of the shells. Overall, the Simgot EA500 is a solid choice for those seeking a high-quality, yet affordable in-ear monitor. The polished alloy shells may be prone to smudging, but their premium construction and comfortable fit make up for it. The EA500 boast superior technicalities, with a slightly wider soundstage, better imaging, micro-detailing, instrument separation, and micro-details. They cost about 2-3x the price of the D-Fi. Vs. TRI Star River Frequency response graph of the Star River via an IEC711-compliant coupler. 8kHz is a coupler artifact peak. The housings are teardrop shaped, with an elegant asymmetrical pattern on the faceplate, and are tasteful compared to the usual run-of-the-mill budget gear. The D-Fi have gold-plated 2-pin connectors. Comfort Although I had a fairly modest experience in regards of the whole Simgot line-up, having only tested its higher model which was the EN1000. Despite, this is not a direct comparison to the EN1000 but the humble EA500 has an ergonomically much comfier fit and design compared to the EN1000, I did still have to take them off though occasionally after a while due to its size and slightly heavier nature which causes my ears to sore especially around the cochlea region. Isolation were also wasn’t a key prowess of the EA500, it filters out noise fairly decent. Based on my personal experience I could hear much of the things going on within my surroundings, this of course depends on how secure one could fit the large chassis of this IEM The EA500 have a slightly thinner note weight and sound more metallic in timbre. The EA500 have more air and sparkle, with a greater treble extension on both tuning nozzles.
