About this deal

LETSHOUER saw the opportunity to let users choose between a single-ended 3.5mm connection or a 4.4mm balanced terminal. The possibility of a balanced pairing right out of the box should excite enthusiasts who carry DAPs and sources that push more power out of the balanced port to maximize the planar drivers of the S12. Summary - I had so many mixed feelings, because of how good the S12 is at certain things and how bad at the others. Sometimes I was really impressed with the fun bass tuning and I would dive deep into a piece to really spot all of the details, but the feeling that sometimes is just not right never really went away. I don't hate it - I actually tried hard to like it, but the tuning just didn't work for me - it doesn't mean it won't work for you. I listen to classical music most of the time and prefer bass light stuff, which places me in rather uncommon target. Keep in mind that most people really enjoy the V-shaped/Harman tuning.

Shuoer S12 and 7hz Timeless : r/headphones - Reddit Comparing the Shuoer S12 and 7hz Timeless : r/headphones - Reddit

Starting off the replay is amazingly interactive. Planar IEMs have a transient ability normally much better than their similarly priced (non-planar) competitors. The frequency response while forming a subtle V shape, both sectors of treble and bass were shown to be dominant. This would have you question the style of midrange abilities. The vocals, both male and female structures are slightly recessed into the mix, yet this tune, this S12 PRO ends up at the very top 1st place or 2nd place spot in my Planar list containing a total of 8 different planar contestants. Yep, I love this one, I really do. Why? Partially due to fit! Yep, I’m taking about fit-form-factor in the sound section……..you know why? Fit creates better sound! That’s a start. Next the bass. What I do not want is to be deprived of hearing the various instruments. Excessive mid bass, which drowns out the other parts of the frequency range, but I do want to hear sub-bass, which is occasional in music in any case. I want to hear the midrange, but not to wince when the saxophone blurts out, or a voice shout at me (no matter how good the voice is). I do not want highs which make me want to pull out the earphones from my ears, but I do want to hear the shimmering highs and sparkly notes. Their product line-up includes the S12 and Z12 mentioned above and other luminaries such as the D13, EJ07, EJ07M, EJ09, Conductor, Soloist, Tape Pro, and Singer. On the top of each monitor shell is a 0.78mm diameter 2-Pin female connector interface that offers a tight connection with the 2-Pin male connectors, located on the detachable cable. Near the connectors is a second vent hole that is part of the pressure balance system of the S12.

LETSHUOER S12 Review — Headfonics

On the front (faceplate) is a relative clean surface that has a slightly protrudes area, which is part of the 2-Pin connector interface. The S12 has a pleasing vocal region leaning towards a more natural presentation. So even though it is not the most expansive IEM I’ve heard, putting forth obvious vibrato but coming short on fainter edges, its clean tonality with a slight upper midrange boost lets it come alive with any song. LETSHUOER was founded in 2016 by an experienced team; each member has an average of 16 years of experience in the audio arena. Their products are all designed and hand-assembled in-house. As discussed in the introduction above, the original S12 pro are marginally different from the original S12 in these areas: Overall when S12 has a small emphasis on vocals, Titan S is more like your basic bright earphone. Dunu IEM has a bigger and much more spacious soundstage but doesn’t deliver as much detail. Also, it has a more dynamic driver tone to it, while S12 is very very clean. Shuoer delivers more impactful, intense, and rich bass. As far as the midrange is concerned, I’d go for S12, hands down. They are just better, but you might like that slight DD coloration of the Titan S. Dunu has an upper hand in highs, they are colorful, shiny in a good enjoyable way. Rival delivers simpler, more metallic treble performance. While Dunu Titan S is a safer option, S12 is a more interesting one. SummaryBeneath the first layer, a compact protective case is included bearing the company’s logo preserved in transit by thin plastic. The chosen cable, the 4.4mm balanced one, resides inside with the two sets of extra ear tips.

Shuoer S12 - my thoughts (vs. Timeless, Blessing 2 - Reddit Shuoer S12 - my thoughts (vs. Timeless, Blessing 2 - Reddit

Overall Impressions: As you can probably tell from the frequency breakdown, the S12 is actually quite similar to the 7Hz Timeless. It offers a bit more warmth in the low and and brightness in the treble, while the mids are probably the closest between the three registers. For my personal taste, however, I find that the S12’s frequency tweaks and improved resolution tip it over the top and make it a more enjoyable listen overall. The clear silicone ear tips were used in the formulation of the sound impressions. How the sound is changed by swapping tips will be discussed separately. Summary The midrange of both IEM’s does offer a good level of transparent and airiness, while the midrange of the LetShuoer S12 is a bit more upfront when I do listen to vocals and instruments.

LETSHUOER S12 Planar IEM - Head-Fi.org

The S12 Pro’s low-end focuses on the mid-bass, with just moderate sub-bass extension. Bass is north of neutral but not at bonafide basshead levels.

The S12 PRO is resolving, crystal clear and transparent in the mid-range with a natural voicing that is combined with the already excellent bass performance to make for an immersive and realistic listening experience perfectly suitable for classical music and not only.
