This book was a beautifully written memoir. I would recommend it as a companion to "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" and any person who wants to know the impact of secrets, dysfunction, denial on a family. Even today, some Americans find out that they had siblings, family members they never knew they had who had been institutionalized. This was the case for Molly Bruce Jacobs.
