a b Mateo, Alex (July 27, 2022). "Reborn to Master the Blade Anime Reveals 1st Promo Video, Cast". Anime News Network . Retrieved July 27, 2022. I have no issues with how Inglis does her job in the new reincarnated world, but more so that her magic itself is played like a parody-sue OP for comedic purposes, using her Aether in a world where even with Runes, only those who had the semblance of the past magic will use it to their full advantage, since the world at that point hasn't experienced magic like Inglis's before. Rather than become yet another noble, her mission in her reincarnation stage is to be an extraordinary squire (hence the series's name), and so that's her train of thought when she enrolls to the typical magic academy to become Rani's squire, to fight against strong humans and monsters alike. Inglis is "Runeless", because that's a choice she makes, because her Aether power is something that must not be known nor found out, for it'll bend the rules of magic that'll benign the potential destruction of the world. And then there's her cousin Rani, which like a leech, feeds off her cousin's extravagance, which isn't a bad thing per se...but on the level of being obnoxious and showcasing too much is the breaking point for me, going closer to Yuri territory when in fact despite Inglis's love for girls, this show need not point out that fact as emphasized as it should be. The sister and cousin's companions Leone and Liselotte... are frankly quite typical and nothing special if you want that "harem" style, even in a girls' troupe. Same likewise with the Hyral Menas, though they are at least of interest...mild ones to be exact.

Finally, a good action anime with a strong female main character. I am very excited for this, not only is the story good, but I can see that slowly the anime/manga industry is moving away from it's misogynistic ideas and bias, if until now we only got animes/mangas in which the main characters were always male and only them were OP and centered on harems, this anime and the other one that aired at the same time with it "Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei" felt very very refreshing and it gives me hope that in the future the female sex will receive There's some interesting bits of worldbuilding with the Highlanders (who literally live on floating islands) and those on the ground, the magical beasts and what causes them, and some presumably future political issues thanks to how Inglis resolved the current problems. But the story puts just as much focus on far-overdone tropes like how much her cousin can eat. the ability to fight without vision. In her past life, she’d been adept at it when young, but the skill had atrophied after becoming king

A male hero-king on his death bed (old age) wishes to be reborn in the distant future to see how his kingdom is faring and to dedicate his life to fighting as opposed to ruling. The goddess fulfils his wish and he is reborn as the daughter of a knight captain sometime in the distant future. We follow her breezing through her first few major events in her young life until she enters the knight academy at the age of 15, events that tease us about the world and that it is quite troubled.

Inglis possessed very powerful magics. She easily destroyed a dragon when she was only a baby. She easily killed Rahal even when he transformed into a magical beast. During training, she can easily catch up Marquez in a running training. life she goes. Not sure why they made the MC into a female in the next life, as I do not think it has served much of a purpose in this first season, but sure, alright then. Healing Factor: The key factor that makes magicite beasts impossible for normal people to beat is their ability to regenerate from damage and severe trauma. Only Knights with Runes and Artifacts are able to cause significant damage at a fast enough rate to overpower the healing of magicite beasts, and the best that their squires can do is run interference, support their Knights however they can, and weaken the magicite beasts until the Knights can finish it off. Elemental Powers: The Runes on Knights oftentimes correspond to Artifacts of specific elements. For example, Rafinha has an affinity for Light and that allows her to use her Energy Bow Artifact. Let's begin this review of an isekai by first lining it up against the three pillars of trash-tier isekai.
