About this deal

Seth Meyers Sings Taylor Swift's Praises For Crafting The "Perfect 'SNL' Monologue" For Her 2009 Hosting Gig: "It Really Speaks To What A Force Of Nature She Is" CWs: lots of alcohol, misogyny, sex pest boss, power imbalance relationship, the dog dies near the end.

The phone on her desk rang. Margo glanced at it and signaled to me that it was my line. I leaned one hip against the ledge in front of her desk and waited, rifling through my mail. This book is VERY fast paced. Wynn's writing made me think of Gilmore Girls, insomuch as you gotta keep up. Things are happening and there is no time to delay. He fluttered his hand at me— de nada. As I turned to go, barely able to suppress the huge smile forming on my face, he added casually, "Oh, just one more thing, Ingrid. There's a particular Corporate paralegal I've asked to assist on this deal. He just started here at the firm. Name's Justin Keating." I cleared my throat and said in the mellifluous voice I reserved for partners and clients, "Hi, Marty, how are you?" I'll tell you why I ask," he continued, as if I hadn't spoken. "There's a high-worth, highly confidential acquisition that's just come into the office. Their usual M&A counsel got conflicted out, so this is a big win for us. It's going to require a great deal of time and attention, and I'd be very grateful if you would be on my team." This was a funny quirk about partners in law firms: When telling you to do something, they often said "I'd be very grateful ," as if you had a choice in the matter.

There is A LOT of sex in this book. The first two instances of sex don't even involved penetration. It was great. It is sex for sex but then it evolves to more emotional sex, the FMC even cries after they have sex once. In the eyes of her corporate law firm, Ingrid Yung is a "two-fer." As a Chinese-American woman about to be ushered into the elite rank of partner, she's the face of Parsons Valentine & Hunt LLP's recruiting brochures--their treasured "Golden Girl." But behind the firm’s welcoming façade lies the scotch-sipping, cigar-smoking old-boy network that shuts out lawyers like Ingrid. To compensate, Ingrid gamely plays in the softball league, schmoozes in the corporate cafeteria, and puts in the billable hours — until a horrifically offensive performance at the law firm's annual summer outing throws the carefully constructed image way out of equilibrium. Scrambling to do damage control, Parsons Valentine announces a new "Diversity Initiative" and commands a reluctant Ingrid to spearhead the effort, taking her priority away from the enormous deal that was to be the final step in securing partnership. For the first time, Ingrid finds herself at odds with her colleagues — including her handsome, golden-boy boyfriend — in a clash of class, race, and sexual politics. I don’t want to give much more of the story away, because I truly think more people should read this and go into it openly. You know why??? It has the best romance tropes you can find in a book: forbidden relationship, one bed, working together, rivals to lovers … just great !!! Georgia Lee spoke to Deadline shortly following the release of season 1 and discussed where they’d head in season 2. Here’s some of the key points discussed: We did this because we felt like her emotional journey is about learning that real power comes from being true to yourself,” Lee says. “And only when she is able to let go of the things she thought she wanted the most at the beginning of the story — making partner — and only when she truly is doing the right thing for the right reasons, does she actually end up getting the prize. But that prize is no longer what is truly important to her anymore.”Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Louis Tomlinson: All Of Those Voices’ On Paramount+, Where The Ex-One Direction Singer Finds Himself As He Flies Solo

Drew Barrymore Breaks Down In Tears For The 2nd Time This Week On 'Drew Barrymore Show' — And It's Only Wednesday! Ingrid is a driven, meticulous lawyer who’s been working towards partner at her New York City law firm, Parsons Valentine and Hunt, for years. When we meet her it’s crunch time and she’s trying to stand out from her male colleagues, including an insufferable, privileged, problematic attorney Dan Fallon (Nolan Gerard Funk) and her dream man and former one-night-stand Jeff Murphy (Dominic Sherwood). Ingrid Yung’s life is full of “firsts.” A first-generation Chinese-American, the first lawyer in her family, she’s about to collect the Holy Grail of “firsts” –she’s about to become the first minority woman to make partner at the venerable old law firm, Parsons Valentine & Hunt LLP. There are some nice moments between characters, some good bits of banter, and if you’re in it for the smut, it’s got good smut. The View' EP Shades Ana Navarro Over Her Costume Choice On Halloween Show: "You Don't Have a Heart"I read the book in two days because I wanted to know what would happen next and how she was going to balance assimilation, ambition and self-identity and keep her sanity intact. Southern Charm' Stars Congratulate Danni Baird On Her Pregnancy Announcement: "You're Going To Be The Best Mom" Wan has written a sensitive story of discrimination faced in ‘old boy' law firms in particular but also in the world in general...intriguing and entertaining. This reviewer is looking to Wan's next novel.” — Library Journal

There’s even a bit of an age gap between the main character and the love interest ( it’s more a older woman/younger man) if you want!!!! I would say this is Perdita stone’s story. A strong, bold lawyer she was nevertheless frustrated about the work place inequality. I never thought women had to go so much. At times it made me mad on behalf of all the ladies.A wholly engrossing behind-the-scenes look at real life behind the pomp, power and prestige of a high-powered law firm that wants to still play by a 1950s rule book.” — Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus, co-authors of Citizen Girl and The Nanny Diaries
