Default accuracy has a deltaE average of 1.97 which is already good enough for most users. the screen looks balanced and vibrant, so most users can get away with only a few minor tweaks. The monitor uses Low Blue Light panel and is in compliance with TUV Rheinland (Hardware Solution) at factory reset/default setting mode. ( Preset mode: Standard.) If a 4K panel is too big for you and you prefer smaller displays, the Dell P2720DC may be more up your alley.

However, it’s limited to 65 watts, so it might not be able to charge the more powerful workstation laptops while they are in use. 65 watts is enough for notebooks and some light tasks like office work, but those who use heavy apps might not get sufficient charging. Otherwise, alternatives include the LG Ergo 32UN880 with similar specs, or the LG 32UP550at almost half the price, if you’re willing to sacrifice the IPS panel’s quality for a cheaper VA unit. How long will it last? In other words, the U3223QE provides excellent results out of the box. Professional color graders might desire slightly better coverage of the AdobeRGB color space, but it’s hard to complain when the color accuracy is this good. Our take The P3223QE has a lot of features to like: 4K resolution on a big, wide 32-inch display that gives plenty of real estate for your work to expand into. Plugging in a single cable to connect video, USB devices and charge your laptop at the same time is also kind of awesome. No more messing with power cables, video cables and USB cables when you are working from home. Featuring a large, 31.5-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 4K resolution, the image produced by the P3222QE is pleasantly sharp on the eyes with great color performance. The panel is capable of 1.07-billion colors, with a rated gamut covering 99% of the sRGB space. As such, this isn’t a wide gamut monitor, nor does it come with factory calibration, so we’ll see how it fares in our testing momentarily. Dell also promises a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 which is what’s expected from an IPS panel, and typical brightness is rated at 350 nits.

So, without further ado, let’s throw our Datacolor Spyder X Elite onto the P3222QE and see how it fares. Niels Broekhuijsen/Digital Trends I measured the P3222QE’s brightness, contrast ratio, and color accuracy using Portrait Displays' Calman 5 color calibration software, a Klein K10-A colorimeter, and a Murideo Six-G signal generator.
It’s a nice attempt at adding value to a productivity monitor if it wasn’t a tad counterproductive. This USB-C hub also uses the monitor’s lone USB-C port as its upstream port, which means that if you have two PC sources, those two sources cannot utilize the same peripherals. It seems like a massive oversight on Dell’s part, especially because productivity often means multi-tasking. Gamma was perfect at 2.2, and the white point was just a little cold at 6,700 Kelvin at 100% brightness. Calibrating the U3223QE resulted in almost no change except for color accuracy, which actually fell off to a DeltaE of 0.99. That’s pretty much all there is to the Dell P3222QE USB-C Hub. As we said, it’s a great 4K monitor fitted with the right look and the right tools for productivity. However, there’s nothing exceptional about it. Its color coverage is basic. Its selection of ports is only decent. Even the one marque feature it does have, while appealing on paper, isn’t even been well-executed. The idea of this monitor is that you plug the USB-C cable into your laptop and it handles everything – you get power to charge the laptop and the same cable handles video and other accessories. So when you get home you just plug in the single USB cable and the monitor starts up, connects to your external mouse and keyboard and other devices, and charges your laptop at the same time. The U3223QE is built well enough and offers enough technology that it should serve you well for years. It also comes with an excellent three-year advance exchange warranty that promises to send you a new display first should yours fail. Should I buy it?

The Dell P3222QE isn’t compatible with FreeSync and G-Sync, but that’s understandable since it’s a productivity monitor. it will still work great with games, but you need a powerful GPU or a newer console to get a stable framerate. Input lag sits at 10ms at 60Hz, so it won’t feel sluggish or delayed even while you play your favorite titles. Thoughts on the Dell P3222QE Calibrating the Dell P3222QE with a colorimeter lowered its dE average to a fantastic 0.71 which puts it in editing monitor territory. However, colorimeters aren’t always accessible and they are quite expensive for most users. It is only necessary if you are into editing and content creation or if you already have one on hand. If you want something smaller to fit into a tighter space, the 27-inch Dell P2720C tops our list of the best monitors thanks to its lower price and good image quality. How long will it last? The next time I plugged the single USB-C cable into the laptop, all of my devices (including the Ethernet) were up and running in a couple of seconds, and the laptop started charging. It’s a simple solution to the business of taking your work with you, but also having the comforts of the home office available. The OSD itself is sharp and easy to navigate, though its text is quite small, and it’s placed way down at the bottom right corner of the display. Being a rather large display, this makes the OSD a bit un-ergonomic to navigate as you have to hunch down to read it. But it’s just the OSD, and it’s not like you’ll spend a ton of time there anyway.
We guess they just never meant for this to be a multi-source monitor, which is such a missed opportunity, especially at such a high price. Decreases the level of hazard blue light that is emitted from the screen to make viewing more comfortable for your eyes.
