About this deal

Just like the Perses, this literal minigun shoots eight Rival Rounds per second at an insane 100 FPS! This blaster also includes two Picatinny rails on top that can be fitted with any tactical attachments of your choice. Picatinny rails are military standard and used in airsoft and paintball, so your only limitation is your imagination! The Mastodon is an extremely fun blaster and its large size certainly makes it intimidating, but all that size adds to the weight. Hasbro has included a shoulder strap to make your life a little easier, but it may be difficult sprinting around the field with this blaster. For example, Nerf Elite darts are terrible at high speeds. This is because they are made of very lightweight foam and are rather long, which causes them to osculate at higher speeds fly in whichever direction they see fit.

Up until now, we’ve only looked at spring-powered blasters, however, there are some pretty hard-hitting battery-powered beasts that can unleash a high-velocity gally of darts that few enemies can escape. Like the rest of the line, the Mach-100 features a fine paintjob, combining a 90s vibe with carbon fiber-style molding. The main handle is quite comfortable; the body of the handle is slightly below that of the Perses, but is paired with responsive triggers that feel great to use. The front grip/battery tray is a natural place to put your offhand, and helps with bearing the weight of the batteries. As a fully-automatic blaster, the Select is going to burn through your NERF ammo but thanks to the inclusion of a novel clip selector, you can load up two 10 dart clips at one time. Once you have exhausted your first clip move the clip selector handle (located just under the barrel) to instantly switch to a fresh magazine. Not only does the clip selector mean you don’t have to worry about reloading for a while but it also allows for some very strategic thinking. The Select comes with both 10 standard, long distance, ULTRA darts and special AccuStrike ULTRA darts which are designed for precision; it won’t matter if your enemy is near or far, no one is going to be able to escape you now! Every once and while Hasbro comes up with some game changing Tech to turn your blasting game on it’s head. Not only is the NERF N-Strike Elite Infinus an impressive blaster (more on that later) but it features revolutionary “ Speed-Load Technology” which means you can keep feeding the blaster darts without the need to remove the included 30-dart drum to reload. If you hate having to stop the game to reload then this is definitely a blaster to consider. The answer, after the dust settles, is rather inconclusive. There’s certainly potential, but I’m not as hyped for Hyper as I could be. At the very least, though, the Rush-40 makes a solid argument due to size and capacity.

Loading this blaster will take some time as each of the 24 dart slots must be manually loaded at the front of the blaster – one at a time. Nerf Hyper : Because they're pellets rather than darts, these won't work in anything that isn't a Hyper blaster. It includes a large rechargeable 9.6V battery, but you can easily upgrade that up to a 12V lipo battery and squeeze 20% to 30% more performance out of this monster! The Kirin represents a major milestone as the first blaster elevated to an injection-molded design through a partnership with Phantom Tech. It shoots half-length darts from 140 to 250 fps using the included low, medium, and high power springs. Load the 7-round detachable magazine and send darts flying at elite velocities. The Pillager's Crossbow isn't what we expected it to be. If anything, it's better. Even though it looks clunky and imprecise, this is a powerful blaster with enough range to give you a fighting chance in soft-play battle.Because these blasters are custom printed, you can select from a variety of colors as well as differing spring strengths which will affect the power of the blaster—the K26 being the most powerful spring.

The initial velocity of a round is typically determined by the type of firing mechanism being used. Each of the blasters listed above utilized either a spring-powered system or a battery-powered fly-wheel (similar to a baseball pitching machine). Spring-Powered It’s set up very much like a Rival blaster (Kronos, etc) on the inside, with a short barrel for Hyper rounds. What, you were expecting something revolutionary? Final Thoughts It’s an assault rifle blaster that includes a select-fire toggle—allowing you to swap between full-auto and semi-auto. In full auto, the Pro Mk-3 spews darts at 4 darts per second and with the right darts can reach speeds of 140 FPS. Ambidextrous at its core, the Kirin enables both right and left-handed operation. Easily swap the dominant hand set up with just three takedown pins. The skeletonized bolt handle enables rapid cycling during intense Nerf wars. Shells eject out the side with each shot for an awesome level of realism. If you want to invoke genuine fear into even the most courageous of your enemies, it truly doesn’t get more terrifying than the Caliburn by Captain Slug.

Performance In Testing

Looking to absolutely obliterate your rivals? The NERF Ultra Speed is a foam-dart death machine. With a fire rate of 7 darts per second combined with 24 NERF AccuStrike Ultra darts, the Ultra Speed will have your enemies left in the dust before they even know you were there. Nerf Rival : Another set of pellets that will only fit Rival blasters (they're bigger than Hyper pellets, so won't work on those either). The Mach-100 is a battery-powered and full-auto beast that can unload rounds at a whopping 110 FPS! On a related tangent, despite the names, the blasters all ship with less than the stated capacity. In a group call with Hasbro, officials stated that the driving reason was meeting price points for launch. More on that later.
