Merry is an avid Christmas Fan and as the busy time of year approaches her business goes from strength to strength. I loved all the little details regarding Merry’s business and the mentions of Christmas stalls, lights, frost, trees, music, mulled wine, candles, hot chocolate and lots more. It really made me feel excited for Christmas and all that it brings but for Merry there is even more of a reason for happiness as Cole proposes and she accepts. They want to get married as soon as possible and set the date for Christmas Eve. With only a few weeks to prepare will Merry pull off the wedding of her dreams? Not to mention there is a very unexpected surprise that is heading in her direction. Merry knows family is the best gift of all and by marrying Cole he is giving her the one thing she had been searching for in her life. She now feels as if she belongs somewhere and she has become a firm part of the community.But with the demands of the business and now a wedding to organise is it time for Merry to take on some else to help out? Can she relinquish just a small bit and let someone in to ease the load a little? Both women are facing changes ahead for different reasons, and the sense of family is strong in each woman. I have to be so careful about what I say as there are so many wonderful moments within this story, there are several layers that are gradually unwrapped and believe me when I say you may need a tissue or more. Fun fact, I'm not really much of a holiday romance reader but Elise Maxwell and Jay Smith are my favorite couple in the Bridesmaids Behaving Badly series so I couldn't pass on reading this novella. In Merrily Ever After, Jay and Elise's marriage is put to the test when Elise finds out that she is pregnant. From the beginning, Jay was adamant about not wanting children and Elise had agreed to it because having a child was something she never thought would be possible considering her struggle with endometriosis. But against all odds, Elise manages to become pregnant and realizes that she does indeed want to keep the baby, even if it means losing the love of her life.

Elise’s yearning for snow and who Jay is with Elise compared to who is with others also told me a lot about these characters and what formed them. There were so many special touches, like dirty Scrabble and the LEGO kit, that showed how good Jay and Elise are together and for each other. Plus, Jay’s grand gesture at the end was everything!

The h really was a downtrodden Cinderelly and the H was nightmare of a person. He basically was an arrogant asshat with his demands that his girlfriends "fit" his expectations and if they did not, he was an utter nematode slurping slimeball - I don't blame his long term girlfriend (the h's step sister) for cheating on his sorry rear, he was just useless as a decent person and extremely useless as an H. Diagnosed with endometriosis when she was younger, Elise was not supposed to be able to have kids. Not a thing that would bother Jay, since he's pretty set on never wanting kids anyway.
