Features and flight The DJI Mavic 3T is built with public safety, search and rescue, inspection and thermal mapping in mind. I have read that some people have experienced flyaways or the Mavic 3 just stops communicating with the remote. I personally haven’t experienced this, but it is well documented. Hopefully, DJI will continue to improve by fixing these bugs with future firmware updates. Sensing And with the Mavic 3 Classic having the lowest price point, this feels the best budget option - if users are willing to sacrifice the Tele camera.

The Mavic 3 is an exciting drone from DJI. The new Hasselblad camera is one feature that stands out as it has a Micro Four Thirds sensor that will help with lowlight performance and overall image quality. DJI sent me the Mavic 3, not the Cine version, for review. For the most part, they are very similar, but the Cine model has more internal storage and records ProRes HQ. Why no other ProRes options? Good question. I think for most users, the Mavic 3, not “cine,” will be a better option as H.265 is pretty darn good. Firmware Updates For a more immersive experience, all five of the Mavic 3 drones are compatible with the DJI Goggles Integra and DJI Goggles 2 , as well as the DJI RC Motion 2 which allows operators to control the drone with wrist movements. The RC Pro controller (above) that comes with the Cine version of the Mavic 3 is essentially a new Smart Controller with a 5.5in touchscreen and offers several other advanced features compared to the standard controller. The Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Cine, and Mavic 3 Classic are engineered for content creation: All three have a quality 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad sensor, but the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine also feature a tele camera for enhanced zoom. The Cine also has larger storage and Apple ProRes capabilities for high-end cinematography;Based on their specifications and characteristics, each one has its own target audience, whether that's content creation, surveying, public safety, inspection, thermal mapping, agriculture, or land management. The gimbal is controllable in the pan (left and right) and tilt (up and down) directions from -5° to 5° for the pan and -90° to 35° for the tilt. However, the Mavic 3 can move the 3-axis gimbal much further automatically to keep a steady shot. These numbers mean the gimbal can do its job in wind speeds of up to 12 m/s or 43.2 km/h. Obstacle Avoidance and Flight Speeds: The Mavic 3 is around the same size as the Mavic 2, though opens out a little larger. Every version is supplied with a clip-round case to protect the handsome camera gimbal (assuming you can live without symmetry). Getting it on and off takes a little getting used to but gives that professional feel the device deserves and solves the issue of flapping props and at-risk cameras in drones of similar proportions. It’s no harder than the clip-on plastic protectors on other models, but it’s doing more work. ProRes has its advantages with less compressed 10-bit recordings, but the H.265 is very good. Hopefully, DJI will also improve the other codec options as well in the future. Fly The Mavic 3 is a nimble drone that’s much more responsive in flight than its Mavic 2 predecessors. In this respect, it's actually more like the DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0. The controls are simply much more sensitive in both Normal and Sport Modes, while Cine Mode offers reduced control sensitivity and speed for smoother flights and more cinematic video footage.
This works well in what you might call standard environments and when set to move around obstacles such as trees, fluid flight is maintained and you can be confident that your video footage will remain constant with little chance of crashing. When flying in more complex environments such as woodland, however, APAS can become overwhelmed and cause the drone to fly erratically.
