About this deal

USB cable sold separately for connection to your PC, and a USB cable + Lightning-USB camera adaptor (both sold separately) for connection to your iPhone or iPad. Though the Korg B2 is a basic line of pianos, the effects and the functions of this piano are also basic including, a) to Korg at its own expense using all reasonable endeavours to rectify any non-conformance with the warranty by repair (by way of a patch, work around, correction or otherwise) within a reasonable period of time or,

The Korge B2 has a 3 Month Premium Skoove Plan. It is an online piano tutorial platform that’s gaining traction, and the Korg B2 comes with 3 months free. The 1/8″ headphone out enables you to practice without disturbing the people around you. It also doubles as your main output for use with external amplifiers and speakers. I’ll be honest and tell you that I did notice a difference between the feel of this Korg and my old acoustic at home when I tried them out in the store. The Korg keys don’t quite have the same amount of authenticity. However, that’s what I expected. I don’t think a digital will ever perfectly replicate the feel of an acoustic. Sure, some makers will get close, and Korg have come pretty close with this B2 model. It’s clear they’ve spent a good portion of their development time on trying to replicate the experience of playing a real piano and I applaud them for that. 12 sounds – a mixture of good… and a a couple of not so good That said, these speakers are good enough for practice and clean enough that you won’t miss minor mistakes. Still, I’d go with an external amp if you’re playing for a large room or gathering. This model includes, AC adapter, music rest, dedicated stand, 3-pedal setup with half-pedaling supportNow having front-firing speakers mean a better, cleaner sound less affected by surface reflections. I love the attention to detail of this piano, and it sounds great, especially when you run them through the direct outputs. For reasons we’ll cover in the Accessories section, you can’t use other pedals that support half-damper functionality (such as Korg’s excellent DS-1H). The same piano was also sampled for the Classic Piano preset, which has a less-roomy, more ‘intimate’ tone. The app is innovative too, as you don’t even need to connect your digital piano to the app by USB (though it would be ideal).

In the event that Third Party Software is supplied, you agree to be bound by and to observe any terms and conditions relating to the use of such Third Party Software. If you know anything at all about Korg, you will be aware of their great reputation for producing excellent sounds, and the B2 in no way marries that image. There are 12 really high-quality sounds present, but there aren’t many voices. The piano’s tones impressed us with their clarity and articulation, as well as their pleasing bass end. As we all know, the majority of people only want the piano to sound like, well, a piano, and will never experiment with different sounds. If so, you don’t need to bother about the B2, since it more than meets your piano needs. Many upgrades to the B2 feel like Korg playing “catch up” rather than innovating, which is sad. We praised the Korg B1, but it’s 2019. Since the competition is sprinting ahead, it’s hard to recommend an ‘upgrade’ that only brings the bare minimum to the table. Polyphony is also on the weak side, as it features only 64 notes of polyphony. It is hard to compare this with the B2, as the B2 has varying polyphony depending on the currently selected sound.

You get a reverb and a chorus effect, both of which have unchangeable, hard-coded settings. Korg claims the presets are tweaked to optimal settings, and I’ll agree. The Korg B2 is an entry-level digital piano that has all the standard connections you expect for a beginner’s digital piano. Speaking of cranking up the volume, these speakers don’t break up as easily. Even at full volume, distortions are minimal. In the event that Korg offers an updated or upgraded version of the Licensed Program to you at any time, Korg’s obligation (and that of its distributors and dealers) to support previous versions of the Licensed Program shall cease 28 days following such updated or upgraded version being made available to you. Stand (STB1-BK/WH), 3 pedal unit (PU-2)*, PC 550-BK/WH, PC 770-BK/WH, PC 300-BK/WH, JS-SB100-BK/WH adjustable height benches

Korg's no-nonsense digital piano offers fantastic sounds but lacks in features

The Korg B2 does come with a three-pedal setup and a furniture-style stand. Thus it can adapt seamlessly inside the living room and add to the room’s elegance and décor. One notable feature of this piano is its large speaker grill, which is located right at the front panel of the board, above its key bed and controls. The sound of the onboard speakers is an important consideration, but we’d suggest you compare these in person. In our testing, Korg and Yamaha’s speakers sounded fuller and more lifelike than the Casio. All three of these pianos include a range of instrument sounds to play with, but focus primarily on acoustic piano. A particular standout was the Korg B2’s Italian Grand which sounds both warm and dynamic, suitable for a range of styles from pop to classical. Be sure to watch our video comparison to hear how these pianos sound and decide for yourself which one you prefer. The keybed responds as you’d expect, though rapid repeated key presses sometimes fail to register (we’re talking really fast though). The keys are graded, so the keys at the lower registers are heavier than those at higher registers. Accompanying sounds: The accompanying organs and electric piano sounds are great, but have limited malleability features. Its strings are passable and can be used for layering with other piano sounds.
