About this deal

There are also 40mm clamp LNBs and C120 LNBs. This refers to the way they fit on a dish. A 40mm LNB has an

e.g. Sky Q™ + Sky HD or Sky Q™ + freesat. If used with a standard multiswitch, e.g. 5 x 16, 4 of the outputs can be converted is a perfect shape from leaving the factory to arriving at the customer. Metal petalised prime focus dishes Although it is difficult to see in the picture, this LNB does have a pull down cover than helps protect the Multi-function intelligent switching design - This Hybrid LNB has 2 x wideband ports and 2 x legacy ports will allow you to keep your existing Sky HD or FreeSat Boxes working from one satellite dish as well as the new popular Sky Q 1TB/2TB box which is powered from the 2 x Wideband LNB ports. This is based on information from May. I'm assuming there's not been any changes since. I doubt there will have been.To take advantage of the four tuners, the new Freesat boxes will require you to have a Wideband LNB. However, these devices may no longer be compatible with certain setups, particularly:

If you’ve switched from Sky Q then your dish is likely to have a wideband LNB and you will be able to record three different channels while you watch another, or record four different channels while you watch a recording you made earlier (or any programme On Demand). If you have several different Freesat boxes serving different televisions in your home, you will need to disconnect your Quad or Octo LNB in favor of a Wideband model. Of course, this will cause those additional boxes to stop working. The only exception is Sky Q minis, which can pull a wireless signal from the main box. That said, I do have some solutions to these problems, which I will go over in the next few sections. Solutions for TV/Sat Combiners: The frequency range of the new Wideband LNB devices are roughly the same as those used for digital TV. This will cause interference and result in neither working properly.

Some Sky digiboxes, however, do not have particularly sensitive tuners. Not a problem in the UK but As I mentioned above, the frequency range utilized by Wideband LNB will cancel out that of terrestrial TV services. The combined style multiplexed wall plates accept coax cables with signals that are already combined, and separate them before they reach your equipment. This won’t work with Wideband LNB, as – aside from Quad models – they only feature one satellite cable connection. Universal LNB’s work by varying a supplied voltage form the satellite TV receiver which will switch the LNB between receiving horizontal and vertically polarised signals and by applying continuous 22Khz tone it switches the LNB between a high and low band. It does this as the bandwidth on transmission is greater than the bandwidth available on the coaxial cable, this means that at any one time there is only ¼ of the available satellite services on the coaxial cable at any one time. Therefore, you can’t just split a satellite signal off a universal LNB and why separate cables need to be installed with separate direct connections to the LNB, which I will explain more on shortly. This is a 2 + 4 hybrid LNB. 2 outputs are for Sky Q™ or freesat 4K and 4 outputs are normal - like a quad LNB)Although this type of LNB can be used for numerous satellite TV systems abroad, the only reason you would typically install this LNB type in the UK is for Sky Q, so this section has been written with this in mind. There are lots of different types of “universal LNB” and contrary to as it sounds not all LNB’s are universal with all satellite dishes. As many don’t fit, like universal LNB’s used for Sky and Freesat MK4 style satellite dishes have a 38mm collar and nearly all other satellites dishes use an LNB with a 40mm collar. While this is not the end of the world when fitting a 38mm collar to a satellite dish which accepts a 40mm collar as a couple of wraps can around the collar can be enough to build the gap and create a secure fixing so that the LNB skew can be set correctly. Trying to do this the other way around however will not work as an LNB with a 40mm collar will not fit a 38mm collar holder. If you need to split the the twin widenand LNB to 2 x feesat 4K recordable boxes, us a wideband splitter dish LNBs no longer fit earlier dishes. The earlier types of Sky mini dish LNB are no longer available. The same is true At the same time, this LNB is designed to oscillate signals down to a frequency of about 300Mhz. This is in stark contrast to Quad Style LNBs, which will normally only go as low as 950Mhz. The use of separate cables to provide separate channels and the extra available bandwidth means there is no need for LNB switching to access all the channels.
