About this deal

Paralleling this is the story of Lulu, which takes place primarily in the Bahamas at the start of World War II. Lulu, who isn't all she appears to be on the surface, is sent to Nassau to write a monthly gossip column for a New York magazine—a column that is focused on the Duke and Duchess of Wales. Better known as Prince Edward and Wallis Simpson, the couple were essentially banished to the Caribbean after he abdicated the throne, and their friendship with Hitler became not only embarrassing, but also problematic to Great Britain. What motivated Elfriede to disappear after Benedict’s birth? Was it the right decision to make? How would Benedict and Margaret have turned out had she stayed and raised them? Los otros personajes Shane, MJ, Blake, Gaylee, los abuelos de Liam, Wyatt, el papá de Shane y Sheyanne son increíbles y los amo💞 This was an enjoyable historical fiction read and I am constantly amazed at how many WWII angles there are, and authors find something new to explore. This made a great airplane read for me! Another thing to be thankful is the beautiful extended epilogue that Katie included at the end, was perfect and filled my heart with love🥺

Golden Hour: My Most Powerful Success Factor | Brian Tracy The Golden Hour: My Most Powerful Success Factor | Brian Tracy

Following her spectacular intrinsically beautiful debut novel, Mine Would be You, Katie delves into a world in the light of Golden hour, a vortex of the earth that is experienced by so few but appreciated by the masses. The American appetite for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor is just insatiable,” Lulu explains about her assignment for Metropolitan magazine. About the royal family she says: “We like to gossip about them, all right. Just not to let them rule over us and all.” Is this still true today? Do you follow the news and gossip about the British royal family? If so, why? Final review thoughts: a well-written historical fiction novel about two women doing anything for love. I really like that Katie always talks about the importance of taking care of your mental health, it is not something that many writers do, I have read stories where you magically heal with love and reality is not like that, of course love is an important aspect in life but going with a professional is the right thing to do

The Golden Hour

If you’re interested in a story about what the Duke and Duchess of Windsor did during their stint in the Bahamas and their Nazi sympathies, look elsewhere. The Windsors are integral to the plot of the book, such as it is, but they’re only there to provide skimpy context for the very silly story of Lulu and her Thorpe. As an individual, you become what you think about, most of the time. You become the sum total result of the ideas, information and impressions you feed into your mind, from the time you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night. Everything counts, but some impressions count more than others. The thoughts with which you flood your mind in the first hour of the morning, the golden hour, have a strong influence on how you think, feel and act for the rest of the day. Improve Your Personal Development

Golden Hour : Book summary and reviews of The Golden Hour The Golden Hour : Book summary and reviews of The Golden Hour

sheyanne, in the beginning, she’s not written as character meant to be instantly liked but you’re supposed to learn to love her. the rough edges and all. i think that’s what makes this whole story even better, that when you come out at the end your opinion of her will never be what it was from the start. she’s such a strong character and there are aspects of her personality i resonated with and i think the hope you get from reading her development as well as the love story is just amazing Golden hour used to be my favorite thing in the world, the golden sky and all the stunning shades that followed, but Liam is my favorite thing to exist ever. Liam makes me feel golden”. Así que me gustó mucho (aunque dolió al mismo tiempo) que Shey diera un paso a atrás y decidiera comenzar a trabajar en ella misma sin Liam, para así poder tener una relación más sana y fuerte 🧡 A very intriguing murder mystery is also revealed. Sir Harry Oakes multi millionaire is brutally murdered. The Duke is in charge of the investigation. Young Manuel has PTSD, as his teacher was injured in a school shooting to which Manuel happened to see and pulled a fire alarm for help. This is a beautiful book, showing the power of friendships (with his classmates Sebastian and Caysha). Manuel is perfectly distracted by his burgeoning interest in photography and other natural abilities his shy personality reveals in this story.

Three storylines

I will admit that The Golden Hour wasn't exactly what I was looking for at this time, so that may have influenced my rating a bit. I am just coming off a bunch of very speedy reads and wasn't entirely in the mood for a long book. However, I didn't want that to take away from my whole experience which is why it's still getting a 4 from me. It really is a beautiful, heartbreaking story even if I wasn't really able to connect to any of the characters. The Golden Hour is the first book I’ve read that’s written just by Beatriz Williams although I’ve read her books co-authored with Karen White and Lauren Willig and loved them, which is one of the reasons I really wanted to read this one. The other reason is because I’m fascinated with anything to do with the very intriguing Duchess of Windsor, less so the Duke, and they are minor characters in the novel, with one of the main narratives of the story weaving around their lives.
