Jesus.” I’m so filled with rage I can hardly see straight. “I could kill Castle for letting this happen—for being so goddamn soft with him—” Rein it in, man.” Ian cuts me off. “We’ve got other problems. And hey”—he grabs my shoulder, looks me in the eye—“you’re not the only one who’s pissed at Castle. But now’s not the time.” Honestly enjoyed this. I did think Adam went through some unnecessary butchering to get the relationships in place, but I'm quite pleased where it ended up (because I'm a fangirl at heart). Speaking of relationships, I thought it was a tad dramatic, but then you had Kenji and his comments poking fun at the drama. That was a nice touch - it showed self-awareness, and ensured that I never felt that this book took itself too seriously.

I’m actually worried about him.” James taps my arm. “Adam.” He taps my arm again. “Did he know where Castle was?” Another tap. “Did he say what time you guys had to leave today?” More tapping. “Adam when are y—”

Well Mom’s dead, isn’t she?” My voice has gone hard. My hands are clenched. And when I see the look on James’s face, I’m instantly sorry for being so harsh. I release my fists. Take a deep breath. I don’t call you Addie in front of anyone else!” James says, protesting before I have a chance to. “I don’t know why it makes you so mad. You said you loved it when Mom called you Addie. Why can’t I?”Warner's obsession with Juliette is terrifying. And I haven't even truly scratched the surface yet. First of all I absolutely have to mention… THE COVERS. Oh my eyes. They are so so so beautiful. Hats off to whoever designed these beauties. The books are worth buying just to have such gorgeousness on my bookshelf. *swoon* I've never been a fan of lyrical'esc writing, that with endless strains of metaphors and descriptions about a leaf or some trivial tidbit that takes up multiple paragraphs. Werkelijk prachtig. Writing was interesting - the first two books had an odd style which I think was done on purpose to emphasize Juliette's mental instability - she is the narrator after all. By the third book, that was mostly gone, signalling her return to normalcy.
